| My on-line friends know me as "penguin" or "pengie". I picked up a fascination with penguins when I was 16. In December 1993 my friend & I attended a Christmas program called Zoolights at Pt. Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, WA. Zoolights is a Christmas light display at the zoo. There were many pretty lights, but to my surprise, NO ANIMALS! I kept looking for animals, but since it was night time, they were all asleep. As we passed "Penguin Point" the penguins started to talk to us & dive into the water. I thought it was amazing. They were the cutest little creatures I had ever seen. You could see their feet just a flapping in the water. My friend & I waddled down the paths to finish our evening. The penguins were the only animals that were out & about that night. Those pengies were sooooooo adorable! From that moment on, penguins became my favorite animal. I continue to receive penguin stuff from friends & family. |
