'The Mudlark'

Ku-Taroo 14.7hh EECC black stallion, no white markings At three years of age, he is young to have a herd but due to his connections within the Silver Herd, he owns some of the most lovely fillies in the mountains, daughters of Morang and Waiirri, and has sired his first son, Tintauwa, with his beloved chocolate silver filly Nulgerong. He is the son of Dirk and a bay mare, but never liked his sire or the other colts of his herd, so when he was almost two he sneaked away with his weanling full sister Mamaragan to join a batchelor mob. Soon afterwards, he met Kaurun and Sable on the Ramshead as they took charge of the band, and his world changed forever.

Though he was always a clever, quick-witted colt who gave an impression of being less than he was, he developed a habit of hiding his strengths until they were needed and assuming an unobtrusive presence to make sure his foes underestimated him, but Kaurun taught him to make it so easy to pretend that he no longer had to think about it and now he easily fools most other males, even those many years older, into taking him for less than he is, much to their disadvantage. Though he was not with Sable and Kaurun long, the blue dun's way of thinking and acting challenged the way Ku-Taroo himself saw the world and taught him a lot about the harsh realities of life, even about himself, and he became wiser even though he never could be as bitter as the silvery grullo Kaurun. He hooked up with the Sky Stallions almost by accident, as he first met Morang at the moment of Kaurun's banishment, and met Kai soon after, struggling to hold some of the most breathtaking fillies Ku-Taroo had ever seen - daughters of the Sky Stallions who had wandered and would be snapped up quickly by older, stronger horses if they weren't hidden. The young grey told Ku-Taroo of a secret, special place his adopted dam had shown him, and how he had been told to find the Sky Stallions and tell them about it. Together they sought out Morang and Waiirri, told them of how Kai's old foster dam had showed him Thowra's long-lost Secret Valley, and became Connected to the Herd, finding themselves suddenly in the very lucrative position of errand colts for the two Kings of the Cascades. They were richly rewarded for their loyalty and service not only with friendship from some great and legendary horses, but also with protection from the entire Silver Herd, magnificent fillies and two legendary valleys to hide them in and protect. He and his herd currently live in the Hidden Flat adjacent to Thowra's valley, a path worn up and over the cliffs that only the two young stallions and their herds know, binding the two Valleys.
