The MiG-21 LanceR fleet has come to its 10th anniversary today, August 23rd, 2005. A number of 114 aircraft have been upgraded in total, 4 of which have crashed. The aircraft is currently the only multirole jet aircraft in the RoAF inventory, and is employed by 3 squadrons, namely 711 Fighter Sq. from Campia Turzii, 861 Fighter Sq. from Borcea-Fetesti, and 951 Fighter Sq. from Bacau.

Between 1995 and 2005, the MiG-21 LanceR fleet has flown a number of 25,000 flight hrs. It is to be noted, however, that most aircraft entered active service after 1998, and the upgrading program was completed in 2003.
