RECOGNIZING THAT I VOLUNTEERED

This Site Dedicated To Us

Rangers

I hope that this site will give you anything you might want to find. feel free to download any graphics. Some of the graphics you will see on this page were taken from POW/MIA sights. Many of the POW/MIA's from all our battles were those who traveled further, faster, and fought harder than any other soldier. I'm a firm believer in taking care of our own, and feel all of our brothers should be brought home. Not a day goes by that I don't think about all of the men,who have paid the ultimate price. Many of my brothers and I believe that beneath the ribbons on our chests, are the souls of those who have served before us. That is why they are worn with such pride. God be with our veterans. They were there for us.

VISITING FAMILY

Some things just can't be forgotten.I wish there were more of us out there who felt the same way.Maybe then many of the wrongs would be righted. Ask yourself this. Do you think the MIA's have forgotten about the country they love the way most of the country has forgotten them? I don't think so.

Below, you will see how I truly feel about being a RANGER. I was brought up in the RANGER family serving with L. Co.75TH Inf. LRSD. at 101st. ABN.I went through RANGER school back in 1992.I really believe that being a RANGER is the highest degree of BROTHERHOOD.

I AM MY BROTHERS KEEPER.

RANGERS LEAD THE WAY

Years ago after talking to some of my brothers I realized that many of them joined the RANGERS because of their fathers. Many of them did not come home. After hearing this I sat and I wrote this poem.

The Blood and the Rain

When Billy was old enough to understand

Momma sat down and took him by the hand
He had so many questions about his dad
What was his job and the life that he'd had
She said his life was nothing but bold
See billys daddy wore the black and the gold
It wasn't long after Billy was born
Daddy had to leave with his uniform worn
Billy never knew why daddy didn't come back
Was because he didn't live through the final attack
In the dark of night is when the enemy came
The ground was wet from The Blood and the Rain
He knew he would die that faithful night
His buddies were dead to his left and his right
He ran out of ammo he needed to fire
He ran to his RTO to call higher
On his way back he was shot in the chest
The place that he fell is the place he would rest
He planted his feet in the ground like a seed
And with his life draining recited THE CREED

Recognizing that I volunteered as a RANGER, fully knowing the hazard of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high "Esprit de corps"of the Rangers.

Ackknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster, and fight harder than any other soldier.

Never shall I fail my comrads. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong, and morally straight, and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be. One-hundred percent, and then some.

Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress, and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.

Energetically will I meet the enemy of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained, and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrad to fall into the hands of the enemy, and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.

Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight onto the Ranger objective and complete the mission, though I be the lone survivor.

RANGERS LEAD THE WAY

Billy started crying when he heard the news
But swore one day he'd try to fill Daddys shoes
And if the day came where his fate was the same
He would give his life too in "The Blood and the Rain"

I would like to personally thank my father who flew F-4's in Vietnam. Ret.Lt.Col. William A. Olsen. It would be my dream one day to even come close to filling his shoes. He is truly a great man, and will always fly with eagles in my eyes. Thanks for everything DAD..

In the meantime if you need me write to rolsen@ldl.net

I would also like to thank "DOC" who has devoted an incredible amount of time to create hundreds of wonderful graphics. Please visit his sight to see how a true AMERICAN displays such Honor.www.flash.net./~azgecko/milgraphics8.htm
