**** My Story ****

My pain started last (2000) June, got worse and by September,
9 capsules of over the counter pain pills did nothing any more.
Pap smear was normal and ultrasound found a few cysts and some scar tissue,
very likely endo is giving me the pain, the doctor said.
He told me to come back for laparoscopy and I asked him what would happen
if I didn't want to have laparoscopy and he said, oh, you will (want to), you wouldn't
be able to stand the pain.
Well it's been 5 months and I have not had gone back to him or had laparoscopy.

After the doctor visit, I read a lot and learned about endo.
I thought about laparoscopy and hormon treatment and ...for some reason,
I decided that I was going to try natural (alternative) treatments.
I changed my diet--completly quit milk and dairy, caffeine, sugar (I already
was not eating meat back then), started taking more vitamins and
minerals--more C, E, magnesium, selenium, zinc, adding primrose oil,
herbal teas, started special breathing exercise everyday, did shiatsu (pressure points),
massage, kept my lower body warm--big underwear, wool tummy wrap, heating pad,
socks in bed, hot bath, quit using all the bug spray and repellent, stopped using
tampons, started imagery technique, yoga, qigong, aromatherapy and
using natural progesterone cream...

After the doctor visit but before I started these things, my pain was so bad that
I took many, many celebrex pills and had to stay in bed for 3-4 days, still crying and
groaning. Then I started these and every month I took less pills and in this
January, I did not have to take any.
I haven't gone to check and I still don't think I'm well, but at least I do not have that
dreadful pain any more.

I have been doing so many things and I have no idea what is working how much.
But I am going to continue doing everything since nothing is
expensive or too annoying..( they are mostly self-taught, from books etc.,
I do not go to get massage or take classes, although that could be very nice, too.)
Actually I'm adding more. Now I do a little tai-chi, one-minute exercises,
try to eat more organic stuff and whole food etc.
Though most books I've read are in Japanese and I suppose you might have already
read these books below, I'll list a few anyway.

***Healing Yourself
A Step-by-Step Program for Better Health Through Imagery

***Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom
