Killian Mannesman
Pilot Firefly Class Transport: Monarch Quote: "You don’t actually believe that do you?" Physical Description Dark hair, worn somewhat long. He has a lean frame and has maintained his athleticism from his time in the military. He maintains a pretty laid back attitude which carries through to his bearing. He tends to dress casually that allows him to move freely and won’t get in the way of whatever vehicle he’s piloting. Personality/Role playing Tips - Nearly terminally laid back. He doesn’t allow things to bother him, or at least he doesn’t show it. - After the war, he became something of a speed freak. Any vehicle he pilots, whether a starship of motorcycle, he likes to tinker with it, trying to get as much performance as possible from the engine. He’ll either get along great with whoever is the resident mechanic, or he’ll drive them nuts. - Romantically, he is a cynic, believing all romantics to be cynics who haven’t gotten their hearts broken. - Has a bit of a dark sense of humor. - Is extremely loyal to those he cares about. Skills/Abilities Has worked to learn to drive or pilot everything that he can, the faster the better. He has the combat training provided to him when he enlisted in the brown coats. He is a capable fighter, both with weapons and some martial arts; however, he is by no means a combat specialist. He has some technical expertise working with different engines. Private Motivation (not known by most characters) He’s looking for a home. Ever since the end of the war, he has been looking for the same kind of family ties that he felt while a brown coat. Secondly, he’s looking Angelo Yui and when he finds him, he’s going to kill him. History Killian does not have much of a relationship with his parents. His parents are well to do land owners on an outlying colony. His father was a harsh and unforgiving man and his mother never really wanted to be bothered with caring for her child, leaving those duties to the household staff. Killian joined the brown-coats, initially because his father supported a strong relationship with the Alliance. However, as he fought and got to know his squadron-mates, he matured and began to understand what the war was really about. After joining up, his piloting skills saw him assigned as a combat pilot. He fought bravely, but the alliance attack craft were far more advanced. After the war, Killian took work on one ship after another, eventually, falling in with a group of pirates. Though he never became close with the other crew members, Killian became close friends with the ship’s captain, Felix Wells. While he got along fairly well with the crew, he had his reservations about Angelo Yui, from the moment he came aboard, it was obvious that Yui didn’t like Killian and Killian didn’t like him. He flew for her for nearly a year before they came across what appeared to be the score that would set them up for life. Wells caught word of the location of a forgotten Alliance supply cache from the war. Within such a supply cache they would find weapons and supplies that would sell for a fortune on the black market. However, it turned out that Yui had other ideas. Yui used the location of the cache to buy his way into one of the larger crime families. When Wells’ ship, the Ophelia, arrived in system and landed on the planet, it was a slaughter. When the crew reached the cache, Yui had men waiting for them. The crew was gunned down before they could fire a shot. Killian had been waiting on station with the ship when the crew was cut down. Killian managed to get the Ophelia into orbit before their cutter dropped in on him. The ship took heavy damage before he could jump. The ship successfully jumped out of the system, but it wasn’t long before the ship began to come apart. The jump had pushed the damaged vessel too far. As he came out of the jump, his instrument panels, those that still worked soared, into the red, with the reactor heading for critical. Killian managed to get the shuttle away from ship before her reactor went. Three days later, he was picked up by a passing transport and was able to barter the shuttle for his passage. Since that time, he’s been looking for another ship to serve on, and a chance to settle the score with Yui. |
