| Lock-In Information PICTURES Who Went? Any returner who was on pace to reach 500 miles and any freshman who was on pace to reach 250 miles by the end of the summer. What happened at the Lock-In? This year at the Lock-In we listened to many informative speakers - Dreux Valenti, Brian Bivens, Brian Appell, Andrea Craddick, Angie Ochletree, Mike Gavino, Nick Arciniaga, Ashley Harold, Lauren McCombs, and Tony DiMarco (tell me if there was more). These speakers told us that we should be mentally tough and that we should FOCUS. They told us how to stretch right (and some good stretches), how to prevent injuries, and some even told us their own running stories. After listening to the speakers on Friday, we had our afternoon run and we got ice cream at Rite Aid. Later that night we ate dinner at Lampost Pizza and then went back to Baratti's room and watched Remember the Titans. |

| Lock-In Information Continued... On Saturday, we ran up Pelican Hill and down McArthur (on the freeway at one point!). Then we went back and listened to the speakers. After more speakers, we went to dinner at Boomers and played miniature golf there. Kristen Simek and Perscilla Reid won the team trophy and Kristen took home the individual trophy. Kristen will have a chance to be a back to back winner if she does just as well next year! Then we went and got Starbucks at about 10:30 or so. We went back to Baratti's room and watched Miracle. Lots of people fell asleep and there was much writing on people with pens going on. :) Things got interesting and Barry ended up being penned also! At about 2am we went back to the hotel and talked until like 4am or 5am. We got up at 8:30 and we were going to run to the beach, but decided not to because we must have looked tired. We just ran 1 mile and went back to Baratti's room and played Mafia. |
