Lord Littlebrook Part Two

This past week has been a very happy one for Nancy and me. We were called by phone and told that Teri and Steve will be making us GRANDPARENTS in March of 2003. This is our first, and we are very happy for them. If you would like to drop the couple, Teri and Steve, a happy e-mail, you can send it to tmfspm@msn.com.

When last I left you, I had been called to the executive office of Gust Karras in Kansas City. I was met at the door by Rufus R. Jones and told to sit down and not to move, or he would break me in half. In the room besides Gust and Rufus R. Jones was Danny Littlebear, a superstar in his own mind.

The two had been complaining to Gust about my constant interference at ringside causing them to lose matches at the Century II Auditorium in Wichita, Kansas. Danny Littlebear had done the main whining. He was a crowd favorite and thought that the world owed him a living. Why, to listen to him talk, you would think that he was the only guy who existed in the world that was worth anything.

Danny started the conversation after I was "placed" on the cushion on the couch that bore the initials N.W.A. on it. He started telling Gust that I was the main reason he was not the Central States Champion right then. He also said that I was also the reason he had to change his lifestyle because of his not getting the winner's end of the money from matches.

As far as I was concerned, he was not the kind of guy that I would want as champion. I would prefer a huge guy who was well muscled and had a more vast array of wrestling talent in the ring---someone like Angus or Roger Kirby.

Gust started portraying the promoter image by just sitting back and listening to the complaints from the two guys who held me hostage. Littlebear said, "Mr. Karras, what you need to do is involve this little multicolored rat that calls himself the Epitome of Wrestling Managers in a match so that we can get our hands on him." Rufus agreed with Littlebear and said, "There isn't anything I would like better than to squash this little weasel right in the middle of the ring in front of all the fans."

Gust answered back by asking where they would like the match; I broke into the conversation and said, "Hey---what about me???? Don't I have any say-so in this matter?" All three screamed back, "NO! Not in a million years!" Clearly, I could see that I was outnumbered on this matter, too.

It was agreed that since most of the "interfering" was done at the Century II, the fans in Wichita would get the match. The next question was, who would be the partner for Rufus and Danny? Gust Karras, being the genius that he was, said, "Thursday, when the TV tapings are done, I will make the decision as to whom your partner will be. Oh ---and Mr. Friend---you are excused from this meeting, and I don't want you in the arena on Thursday before 7 p.m."

Television tapings and promos began on Thursday at 6 PM, and, as requested, I was not in the taping area. I arrived, and all heck had busted loose. Angus grabbed me by the arm and started punching me till I pulled away and demanded what in the blazes he was talking about. It was then that Roger Kirby grabbed me and began to question me as to why in the world I would want to wrestle against a midget in a six-man tag match.

I was furious and started a rampage with the closest guy to me, referee Frankie Diamond. He became a human punching bag between Angus, Kirby, and me. He broke away when Gust Karras entered the room and told me what he had done. I was so mad, I wanted to take that cane he used for support and knock him over the head.

I told Karras that the decision he made behind my back would be the worst he had ever made, that Roger Littlebrook would be officially retired after the match, and that he could support his family from that day forward.

The following Monday night, Wichita was packed to the rafters. The standing-room-only signs were out, and the crowd was very heated. We entered the building from the basement garage area and went directly to the dressing rooms. Roger Littlebrook occupied one of the chairs in our private dressing room. He started to say how sorry he was that Gust had made him be a partner to Littlebear and Jones. Angus wanted no more of the conversation and picked him up bodily and threw him out of the room.

We got dressed and began to plan our match out; I wanted to beat the living heck out of this "little man" that Gust was trying to embarrass me with. What would I do to him; how would I make his life a living Hell for him and Gust Karras????

To be continued...
