Oahu      Hawaii Sept 2004
This is a truly beautiful island and a memorable one for us because we were married there in Sept 2004 (see details in Travelogue below.)

The beaches are stunning and the local people go out of thier way to help the visitors.

There is so much to see and do on this Island, your only problem will be fitting it all in.
USS Arizona Memorial
A visit to the USS Arizona memorial must be high on every visitors list to Oahu.
There is no entrance fee, you are given a ticket with a tour number on and while you wait for it to be called you can seethe museum, memorial gardens and thier excellent gift shop.

Once you number is called you make your way to a movie theater andare shown a 25 minute film on the events that took place at Pearl harbour in 1941. After the film you board a lauch for the short trip out to the memorial which stands astride the sunken hulk of the USS Arizona.

The 15 minutes that you spend on the memorial is a time of refection, the memorial has a large wall inscribed with the names of all those who were lost. After 60 years you can still see oil seaping from the ship below.
Katamaram trip.
Sunset over Waikiki
The Maitai Kat
We set sail on the Maitai' Catamaran from the beach at Waikiki. This is a lovely sunset cruise and they have an open band what better way to to end the day ! Barefoot board right on Waikiki Beach, then sail out through the surf line and leave the hustle and bustle of Waikiki behind.
Kailua Beach Park
Kailua Beach Park is on the Windward side of the Island, it has a Gorgeous beach used mostly by locals. There is a lush , green park backing onto the beach, perfect for Picnics.
