and history |
Since the history of trade is the history of cities, its origins are to be found by the rivers of Babylon, in the marketplaces of ancient Mesopotamia. It was in the marketplace of early Babylonian cities where God must have confounded the tongues of so many races and kinds of people, rather than in the Tower of Babel. |
There is but one word that came down to us almost unchanged by time and people: |
