Welcome to my piece of the the World Wide Web. I'm an ex-Army person, having served 21
years in the Royal Australian Corps of Signals. I left the Army in 1988 and now work as a
Communcations Officer with
|
the Queensland Fire and Rescue Authority. Links to some Army and QFRA sites are at the end of
this site.
|
I have concentrated this site on my travels throughout Australia since 1995, in that time we have
covered 42000kms through every State except Tasmania.
|
I have included some photos from each trip with a bit of info, so if you are planning some of
these trips you will hopefully gain some info - I'm not associated with any travel companies etc
therefore I have no loyalties to any of these places, if you want to know what the places are like,
email me.

We purchased a 1989 Mitsubi Pajero SuperWagon (V6 petrol) in 1994, previous to this our 4wd was a
Series II Landrover. The Landrover was just for mucking around in we never took it too far from home.
|
The Pajero was a reasonable vehicle but lacked a lot in space. The offroad capability was Ok, it went any
place the Landcruisers etc went, but due to the lack of wheel travel did tend to bottom out.
|
We had some problems with the vehicle over the years we owned it, they appear to be faults inherent in
the vehicle (Mitsubishi don't want to know however). The problems we encountered included, splitting
fuel tanks, cracked diff housing and rear axles, cracked A pillars, jamming back doors etc.
|
Mechanically it did well, it was sold with 280,000 km on the clock and the motor had never been
touched, the clutch was replaced at 250,000.
|
|
The Pajero was replaced in 1999 with a 1996 Landrover Defender Twin Cab (2.5 TDi diesel). The vehicle
had 50,000 km on it when we bought and now, 15 months later it has 100,000km on the clock. So far
there have been no major problems but time will tell.

I have dedicated each page to different trips with some photos and a bit of info about the trip. I hope
someone gets some ideas from the site.
