Around the Island
On these pages we would like to tell something of the island and show you around.
When you come closer to the island with the canoe you'll see that it's not so easy to spot where the fireplaces are from the lake. The best thing you can do is get out of the canoe and walk around the island till you find a spot that you like and then get back to get the canoe to the spot you've choosen.
We have some pictures of the different camping spots.
As you can see from these pictures, some have more open space than others. Some are closer to the water or deeper into the woods.
The fun thing is that you will not find a camping spot like this on a camping.
This you make your own.
But whatever spot you choose on the island. There are magnificent lookout points over the lake and the nearby islands.
And it's different in every weather condition. We spent a lot of time just looking out. Spotting birds, clouds and all other things around.
Clocks lose their importance and you start living in harmony with nature. You arise, sleep, fish and go shopping according to the light and the weather.
This is something I like very much. An early, chilly morning when you can see the mist rise from the water before the morning heats up again for some beautiful weather.
