Move to Assault page 2!
Assault : finish him up!
Black can use double knight ti attack C2.
So White eats black knight and cancelling goes for bishops, too.
White pushes C pawn to challenge knight
at B4, but the knight retreats to D5.
The threat continues. The rook is out, too.
The White queen moved away from knight
attack. But can you see the discovered
check after that?
The rook + knight + queen at D2. The White queen in lost.
Most people like Knight because knight can hop around and threat multiple spots, "fork".
I prefer discovered check. When I see my minor piece on the line to the king, I move my queen
right behind in a purpose. My favourite move is queen behind knight. Knight moves off for discovered check or forks or sometimes even double checks. Double check is really dangerous by the way. The king has to move when it occurs. I'll show diagram for that case.
Good players know how to keep the threat alive. For the left diagram, it's black's turn. How can you keep attacking? Maybe you want to eat rook or queen. Maybe you want to give a check. Maybe you are trying for an eventual checkmate.
