| The Stash Opens for business Tuesday 14th October 2003 I assure you, we're open. Before any View Askew fans who're visiting from the WWW-board over that direction decide to burn me at the stake, the quote is in tribute, not heresy! Finally, the troubled story of the Stash is just about over. It's taken weeks for us to get up and running, but at last we're here, we're qu... well, we're loud, we're proud, and we ain't going nowhere in a hurry. So what? I hear you inquire. Well, we were just getting to that. It was decided that we needed another cleanup down the Way ("who's Way? Pete's Way!" - Run DMC, paraphrased). But rearranging the usual icons and stuff was getting boring, as was slapping a new banner or two on the main page ever month. So, how about a whole new mini-site? Perfect. The Stash is going to be useful... can't reveal all just yet, but there will be stuff about the soon-to-be-made "Dumbass:Reloaded" (Released 8th November, write that down somewhere), Woogie's World, and some weird, weird stuff from the Loaded/Mendes side of things. But WHAT? you scream in frustration. To answer that, you're just going to have to check back regularly... (Screweth that!) Here's the deal - click on the link and you can preview some of the products we are considering retailing. Whether we'll actually sell them or not is another thing. If anyone has a particular view, make your way to the ever-popular message boards. Dumbass Reloaded schedule has been shifted slightly - forward a day, to be precise. Shooting will now commence on Tuesday 4th November instead of Wednesday 5th. This is to allow for the chief executive (me) to go see the Stereophonics at the Odyssey arena - not filming on Friday is such a pity, I don't think. Later days! I unwrapped a small sachet of 70 (cheap) tissues this morning. No joke. Also, some thermal socks, some more socks, some Tweenie gummie sweets, a selection box, and enough of Boot's sale stock to refloat the Titanic. Not even any freaking Jelly Tots. Whoever said it's not all about the presents has never unwrapped shaving foam - twice. BUT ANYWAY... Woogie's World is finally with us! It's the sound of a modem in pain... me computer has been on the blink for a while, hence little updates... still having trouble with the awards, sorry again to all those who have asked about them. Now, it takes a lot to make me laugh, and I don't want to sound self-confident, but the mini-essay in mine is the first thing to make me laugh so hard in a while... then again, "platypus" is a funny word... Thursday 13th May 2004 School is officially finished - for Upper Sixths anyhoo! That's it! Show's over! Go home! The Awards are complete for another year... ok, so it's taken me, ooh, at least a month to get around to it - but behold, c'est tres beau, non? It's going to be a wee bit lifeless... no wait, that's just a pointless train of thought, let's face it. Was just one of the first Europeans to see the Friends Series 10 Finale! My daddy, it was well made... pity Courteney Cox was so obviously far on in pregnancy though, but they ended it with some really great writing and directing: not that it was particularly unpredictable, but the way the whole episode was laid out was great, some very iconic shots and loads of in-jokes and references. But enough about that: let's talk Loaded! On the board, there's a whopping great update on the state of play in that field at the moment. After a three-month (yes, I am ashamed) hiatus, PetesWayUK is FINALLY back in business... - But it's not like it's been quiet, oh no... the PetesWayUK Message Boards are currently averaging a whopping 80 posts a week! Monday 20th December 2004 Ding dong merrily on high... or not! Bah, humbug. Tradition dictates that PetesWayUK is usually the home of anti-Christmas campaigning... however, this year there is a slight sense of confusion... I've come over all... warm and fuzzy. Oh dear. - First up: in case you missed the recent propaganda battle (and you probably did), the Room One Gentlemen's Club Presidential Election was a harrowing affair. Full campaign coverage can be found in this post and the campaign poster can be viewed here. - Ah, the hit counter can be my greatest foe. You may have noticed that all links to PetesWayUK now lead directly to here. The transfer to this page as the homepage is finally complete (learnt the HTML for redirection today!) but this means I lose a track record of over 10000 hits... so I made up some silly excuses for the low hit counter, which you can access above. - In case you didn't know, the Church Of Ireland Centre at Queen's is THE place to be... There's a stark possibility that keeping this site updated is not that high on my list of priorities. Justification time - I have a lot to do. First person who shouts 'film studies' is in trouble. But bear with me. I'm not going to make a list of things that will happen in the near future, cause in all liklihood, many of them may not. Then again, maybe all of them will - I guess you'll just have to keep checking... plug plug plug. - PetesWayUK Awards - It IS that time of the year again... however, after a near-fiasco in the past, the voting may now be returned to a "select committee" rather than the general public. More to come - maybe. - This Way Up - the band is kinda taking off, and there's the possibility of a couple of major gigs in the works (if Exodus ever confirm). Half of us are at LifeSpring in Lurgan on the 16th, see here for more information. - Woogie's: Reborn - MUST finish that story, it wasn't half bad... - But here's something completely different: Loaded is back. I mean it really is back. Still needs to change the name, though. Been commissioned for a (we like to think) MAJOR promo video in the summer, with many possible follow-ups if successful. And finally have all the necessary equipment, which helps immensely.
