CANVAS SOUL
She lifts her brush to the canvas bare
visualizing what's to be
Her innermost secrets flow from her hand
displayed for all to see
Colors emerge from somewhere within
Her palette of emotions set free

Raw nerves exposed, she is naked now
poised for artistic attack
A strong memory appears as crimson rage
mottled with grim strokes of black
She wears her deckled edges with pride
A well-earned emotional badge

Cyan sorrow spills onto the cloth
Blended with hollow sage
Washed together with watercolor tears
to form a muted glaze
No way to dam the floodgates now
Grey indifference has no place

Surrounded safely by negative space
Her spirit pours forth freely
Expressing her deepest, most private place
through chroma oils revealing
in a powerful esoteric form
A medium most appealing
