CLEAN BREAK
I need you to let go of me
'cause I can't do it first
Part of me keeps holding on
and that's the part that hurts

You're going through the motions yet
I know your heart's not in it
We both know there's no magic left
Why wait another minute

You're holding to the promise
but your vacant eyes don't see
I'm clinging to the couple who
I know we used to be

I know, too well, your empty smile
just trying to get along
Your mood will shift in just a while
and I'll know something's wrong

I guess inertia keeps you here
Change can be uncertain
But your tenderness is insincere
I feel like I'm a burden

So, quickly rip the bandage off
Don't torture me with lies
Just admit we're done because
I don't like long goodbyes

I just can't be the one to say
that we are history
So let me go, and walk away
Then we can both be free
