A HEART KNOWS NOT
A heart knows not about the rules of love
It's not concerned with such things
A heart only knows that it needs to give
And the joy that sharing can bring

A heart is carefree and light, like a child
The mind, like a parent, is sober
A heart delights when a new love is found
The mind worries about the pain of when it's over

A heart knows not whether someone's your type
It will lead you to them nonetheless
To "follow your heart" is often wise advice
For it usually knows what is best

A heart knows not when to let go
It can go on loving for years
No matter what hurtful things have been done
A heart holds the weight of many tears

A heart can be broken, we all know that's true
But with time it always will mend
A heart knows not to shy away from love
It seeks love again and again

The mind remembers the pain from before
A heart knows not you were bleeding
While the memory of the pain can paralyze the mind
A heart only knows to go on beating

When it comes to matters of the heart
Don't be a smug intellectual
A heart that knows not, isn't dumb after all
It knows far more than you expect it will

So follow your heart wherever it may lead
It knows things you can't comprehend
It's the source of what makes the world go around
So remember, your heart is your friend
