IN THE KEY OF LIFE
Life's like a song in so many ways
Music is there to help measure our days
to convey any mood or event in degrees
Arranged in major and minor keys

For birthdays, babies, and barbecues
The key of B is what we'll use
But when we're battered and broke,
and things turn to badness
a B-flat minor laments our sadness

If you're cheerful, comedic and carefree, too
Then C-sharp is the key for you
When life is good, great, even grand
the key of G is there at hand

A strong A-chord can be harmonizing
for moments amazing or appetizing
Don't fret if you're fearful, fragile or forlorn
An F-minor strain will help you to mourn

Strike up the key of D, if you will
for a downright distinguished and dignified drill
To evoke emotion with effortless ease
choose E-flat from among all the keys

Just like in the movies, our lives can be scored
Just listen for the most appropriate chord
Music can define any stage that we set
with an orchestral style, as a solo, or duet

I cannot imagine a day without song
Life without melody would seem unbearably long
So whistle or hum a tune, if you please
in any of the many harmonious keys
