Lily in the Morning |

I squint one eye to check the time, the light of day sneaks in I bargain for a few more zzz's and fall asleep again In my dreamlike state I hear a sweet familiar sound My senses slow to waken now begin to come around An angel voice of sing-song words, a language all her own Happily babbling in her bed, welcoming the morn I tiptoe in to catch a glimpse of my baby girl at play Ringlets of hair encircling, like petals, frame her face |
Her widened eyes are not surpised as she warms me with her smile Her face glows like the risen sun so I bask in it awhile Each day I wake to see her is delightful and informing No better way to greet the day than Lily in the morning |
