No Less Beautiful
Somewhere out in a desert dry
luminous petals appear
For just a brief season they rise toward the sun
reflecting the glory of its rays

How sad that no eye will fall upon their beauty
before they wither away
Somewhere deep in an unknown wood
a birdsong welcomes the day
The sky is adorned with the graceful sway
of the crooner
as he floats on the breath of morning

How sad that no ear will harken his tune
and know we breathed in the same air
Somewhere lost behind empty eyes
a latent blossom awaits
A reason, a spark is all it would take
to open the bloom
to stir the soul to its fullness

How sad that no heart will offer itself
as a catalyst for this ripening
another beauty, yet unseen
