POOR NESSIE
Fifteen hundred years ago
They wrote about her first
They'd seen a floating dinosaur
In Loch Ness she was immersed

But soon the story ran amok
Ignorance and fear took hold
They labeled her a monster
And a legend began to unfold

To this day the story is told
And people still flock to see
If they can catch a glimpse of her
The dinosaur of the sea

Now if it's true that Nessie lived
So many years ago
By now she must be very old
And a very lonely soul

Some even think she surfaces to seek
A dear and long lost friend
Diplodocus, an old playmate of hers
Who once did roam the land

How sad for Nessie to be left
With no one like her around
Just gawking humans all about
No privacy to be found

And so, she dives into the deep
Where she can mourn alone
Until she yearns to come up and see
The shores of her only home

I have an idea for Nessie, though
That just might cheer her up
I'd like to fix her up on a date
with Jackie Paper's old friend, Puff

Surely he could sympathize
With Nessie's loneliness
She'd follow him to Honah Lee
Far from the tourists of Loch Ness

There they'd roam together
Puff's green scales would reappear
And Nessie would have a new playmate
To be with year after year

...and they would live happily ever after.
