SENSING HOPE
I've seen hope when I looked to the sky
Where once was a brooding storm
Dissipating gloom gave way to the light
Behind a palette of colors so warm

I've smelled hope in the air of an April day
Washed clean with a springtime shower
Fragrant as an assorted bouquet
Like the promise of summer flowers

The sound of hope has graced my ears
Many times when I was distressed
The voice of a loved one calming my fears
As with music of angels we're blessed

I've been touched by hope with my face in the wind
Felt the warmth of a glowing fire
And there's nothing so smooth as a newborn's skin
With a lifetime yet to transpire

When hungry for faith, I've tasted hope
In the body and blood of Christ
To broaden my humanly narrow scope
With a helping of heavenly spice
