Touched By A Stranger
I shed a tear for you today
I don't even know your name
I said a prayer while on my way
after I passed the scene

I saw you lying on the ground
next to your toppled bike
The stricken faces of those around
who'd seen you and the car collide

I truly hope you'll be okay
That you weren't too badly hurt
I hope you were able to walk away
and continue your day undeterred

I know that it's a human thing
that makes our hearts go out
I'm sure it's also the mother in me
that caused my pulse to pound

My life was touched by you today
For you I was concerned
I only hope that in some way
My feelings touched you in return
