"Theme From The Adams Family"
Cinnamon

After I moved into my first apartment
I found I was very lonely without Kelly.

One day while in a pet store I was looking at little guinea pigs
and suddenly found myself going home with a little girl.
I named her Cinnamon.  She was cute and a lot of company.
I didn't think I could have a cat because I was allergic
and had barely tolerated Kitty when I was little.
I didn't know at the time that guinea pigs have a lot of dander
and I was also very allergic to her too.
But I still enjoyed her company and she wasn't running
around on the carpet like a cat would do.

She would sing for food
and always greeted me when I got home from work.

Unfortunately, I didn't know enough about them and
she caught a cold from me when she was barely two years old.
It was hard to find a vet that would even look at piggies.
I had an appointment for Saturday morning
but she died in my lap Friday night.
I felt just awful.

Here is the only picture I have of her.

Cinnamon

She was my first experience with guinea pigs
but not my last.
They are great little companions for children and adults alike,
as long as you don't mind cleaning their cage every day.
Some nights I would come home so tired from work
and that was the last thing I wanted to do,
but the cage was dirty
and it was my responsibility
to make sure she had dry bedding
to keep her healthy.
So I cleaned it every day.

They have a lot of personality,
and they sleep all night like we do,
where hamsters get up at night
and make a lot of noise all night.

If you came by way of the guinea pig webring,
please check out my other two piggies
before you leave at Corky and Joey
