HI, MY NAME IS BRANDY AND I AM A
TOY POODLE. MY BIRTHDAY IS JUNE 26TH AND
I AM 14 YEARS OLD AND
WEIGH ABOUT 10 POUNDS. I USED TO BE
APRICOT IN MY YOUNGER DAYS, BUT NOW
I AM PINKISH WHITE.

I LIVED IN NEW YORK MOST OF MY LIFE AND
ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO I MOVED TO JUPITER,
FLORIDA. THATS WHERE MY MOM AND DAD
WANTED TO GO SO THATS WHERE I WENT.

MY MOM AND DAD BOTH WORK, AND ME? I LEAD
A DOGS LIFE, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
BUT AT LEAST DOWN HERE IN FLORIDA I DON'T
HAVE TO WEAR THAT STUPID RED AND BLACK
PLAID COAT ANYMORE. MOM THOUGHT IT WAS
SO CUTE, BUT ME, I THOUGHT I LOOKED DUMB
IN IT. MY MOM AND DAD LOVE ME VERY MUCH
AND I LOVE THEM A LOT TOO.

I HAVE A BOYFRIEND NOW, HIS NAME IS BUSTER BOO.
I MET HIM ON LINE IN FEBRUARY OF 1998, AND
I GUESS WE HAVE WHAT IS CALLED "CYBER LOVE"
ARF! ARF!, WE CALL EACH OTHER SWEETIE PIE, AND
WE E MAIL EACH OTHER EVERY DAY.
THE ONLY THING HE LIVES FAR AWAY FROM ME, AND WE
NEVER SEE EACH OTHER, BUT MAYBE SOME DAY WE WILL
MEET, BUT UNTIL THEN WE WILL BE "CYBER LOVERS".

ALL ABOUT POODLES

The poodle is one of the best-known breed in the
history of dogdom. It is believed to have originated
in Russia where black standard-sized poodles were used
as water retrievers for bird hunters.
The Russians called the dog "pudel" which literally means
"splashing in water". The breed spread to Northern Germany where
the brown color was introduced.
German artists as early as the 15th century illustrated the poodle,
and the great Spanish artist, Goya, used this breed
in several of his paintings. The first evidence of a toy poodle's
existence came from England, where the "White Cuban" breed,
said to have originated in Cuba, became an English favorite.
Queen Anne had several poodles during her reign in the early 18th century.
How then did we get the name "French Poodle"?
Just when the breed was introduced into France, and by whom,
is still a mystery, but the French found that by clipping
the hair off the body, and leaving it on the paws,
the dog managed himself better in the water.
A good deal of speculation about how the dog should be clipped
led to the present types of clips.

We know that the poodle is not a new breed
and it has definitely not been bred down in size.
The toy poodle existed at about the same time as the larger sizes.
