All About Me...
"I can do everything through HIM who gives me strength." --Philippians 4:13.
The most important thing in my life:  My faith in God. Where would I be without him? After that, my family and friends.
Orange &  Wedgewood blue
Foods: Fruit (kiwi, mangoes, strawberries, blueberries), bagels with lox & cream cheese, baked potato soup, and strawberries dipped in chocolate (a rare decadence).
Hootie and the Blowfish, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Andrea Bocelli (opera),and the Beatles.  Bebo Norman is in my stereo right now. Bebo and Third Day are my favorite Contemporary Christian artists.
Athletes: [retired--Boomer Esasion], Peyton Manning, the Rock.
Football Team: Could there be any doubt? The Tennesse Volunteers!  But they are in my doghouse of football right now.  I also hold faithful to the University of Virginia Cavaliers.
Basketball Team: the KC Tornado team
Founding Fathers: Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. (I know this is an unusual category, but you've got to consider, I am a history major.)
Figure in History: The American soldier, especially during World War II.  Can "Rosie the Riveter" fit in here too? John Fitzgerald Kennedy and his son, Martin Luther King, Jr., and FDR.
Television Shows: "Alias"  I want to be a spy...ha ha!  I don't get to watch a whole lot of television in grad school...
Movies: "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington," "Holiday Inn," "You've Got Mail," and "The Godfather."  ("I made him an offer he couldn't refuse."  You can add "Lord of the Rings,""Legally Blonde," and "Sweet Home Alabama."
Disney Movie: "The Parent Trap" (the newer version)
Disney Character:  Cinderella
Songs: My favorite song can change everyday, it just depends on what I'm listening to. Favorites of all time include "At Last" by Etta James and "Ave Maria" as sung by Andrea Bocelli.   Favorite Hootie and the Blowfish song:  "Hannah Jane." "Hey Jude" and "Let it Be" are my favorite Beatles songs.  I grew up on Motown and oldies, and I've been really interested lately in the protest songs during the Vietnam War.
Hymns: "How Great Thou Art," "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross," and "A Mighty Fortress is Our God."  My favorite praise songs are "Agnus Dei/ Worthy" especially when done by Third Day and "Great Light of the World" by Bebo Norman.
New pictures coming soon!
I have so many hobbies!  The hobby I probably spend the most time, energy, and money on is scrapbooking.  I love taking pictures and recording my memories in scrapbooks, and I love to make scrapbooks for friends.  I love all kinds of crafts and art...a lot of my friends don't know this about me.  I occassionally paint watercolors, and I knit and sew.  I used to make the most elaborate doll clothes for my little cousin.  I love to cook, when I have the time.  I love reading, talking on the internet with my friends, and doing research.  The last part sounds boring, but it's my one connection to feeling like a detective!
College Major: History...I'm working on my M.A. in Early American history
My mind has changed so many times...as have my priorities in life.  Now, I'm going to finish my M.A. at the University of Tennessee in Early American history (think powdered wigs and knee breeches) and then return to King and finish up my education requirements.  I want to teach, be it in a community college or a high school, or my dream, in a Christian school.  I would love to teach Virginia history.
AOL Instant Messenger: DE673 (weird, huh?  It's for the final ship my grandfather was on during World War II, the Destroyer Escort 673--later converted to the U.S.S. John P. Gray, a high speed transport.
Artist: Claude Monet & Edgar Degas.  My dream is to someday go to Giverny, France and visit Monet's home.
My favorite painting:
Favorite books: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, The Secret Garden, D-Day by Stephen Ambrose.
Hardest lesson to learn: Patience!  God is working with me on this one.  It seems like this is the hardest thing I've ever had to learn and I keep repeating "Patience is a virtue, patience is a virtue." Maybe one day I'll get it.
Luxury item I would take if I were on Survivor: Well, first of all, I don't think I'd be on Survivor.  I'd probably take my Bible.  If I could, I'd take my family and friends.  As far as something totally frivolous, I'd take a Yankee Candle...preferrably Plumeria or Ocean Water.
The Artist's Garden at Vetheuil by Claude Monet
