Blog About Nothing:

Mission Statement: Random Thoughts put out at Random Times.

Tis a season of no expectations.

When TFB went down 7 minutes into the season, the expectations for the Patriots were flushed down the toilet.  Yes, the players and coaches stayed the party line and said nothing had changed.

While in our minds, everything had changed.  Tom Brady was gone.  Matt Cassel looked like absolute crap during the pre-season.  The team barely got by one of the worst teams in the league and we still had San Diego, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh ahead.  Plus, Brett Favre is now in the division.  WTF?

Here we are 4 months later, and two AFC East teams with no expectations are more then likely going to walk away with the AFC East title.  The Dolphins coming off a 1-15 season has control of the AFC East.  Do you think Chad Pennington wants to give the Jets' FO a great big middle finger next Sunday?  Hell Yeah!!!

Our Patriots are sitting at 10-5.  10-5? No f'ing way.  Matt Cassel has matured leeps and bounds this year.  Wes Welker and Randy Moss have plugged there ways to decent years.  While the D has struggled and one could think that Sam Bradford would shred the Pass D, it has done enough to help the Patriots to 10-5.

This season has been one of the more enjoyable this decade.  No it is not going to replace a Superbowl title, or erase the memories of that maddening loss to the Giants.  However, it has been about enjoying the game and the team.  Sports in it's purest form.

Irregardless of Sunday's outcome, Thank You 2008 New England Patriots.
