City Council Traditions

1) Each City Council Member is an Executive Member of her own Chapter and as such represents her Chapter at City Council.

2) All Beta Sigma Phi inter-city functions should be overseen by the President of City Council or a City Council Representative.

3) A planning calendar should be established by City Council for all Beta Sigma Phi inter-city events.

4) A list of Members willing to progress, or are eligible to progress, should be made available to all Chapter Members in "January" of each year.

5) City Council should refrain from purchasing gifts or pins for City Council Members. (if Chapters so choose they may wish to purchase gifts/pins for its City Council Representative)

6) City Council is responsible for maintaining the expenses of its President attending inter-city Sorority functions.

7) At Founders Day a rose will be given to the City Council President, each Executive Member of City Council, each Chapter President, and each of City Council's special guests.

8) City Council is responsible for maintaining the expenses of its invited guests at inter-city Sorority functions.

9) One flower (yellow rose) will be given to each degree recipient (except for those sisters receiving the Order of the Rose Degree, in which case flowers will be distributed equally amongst such recipients).

10) One flower (yellow rose) and Certificate will be given to each Woman of the Year recipient.

11) Each fifty year Beta Sigma Phi Member will receive one dozen flowers (yellow roses.)

12) On the death of a Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Member, City Council will donate, in memory, $25.00 to a Charity of choice.
