EXPERIENCE
January 2002 to April 2003, then November 2003 until November 2004 (four total assignments) - Florida Hospital, Orlando, Florida; Crystal Reports Designer, ASP.Net Developer  (Employee of MODIS)
  • Oct 2004: Assisted with the migration effort to Project 2003, including SQL Server views created for all project-based reports.
  • Sep 2004: Developed DB2/System 390/Parameterized Stored Procedure-based Crystal reports for the Pharmacy team.
  • July 2004: Created the foundation (90%) of the Crystal Reporting standards document developed for the hospital.
  • May 2004: Designed several reports for Project 2002 to show resource time and productivity for the CIO.
  • Nov 2003: Developed DB2/System 390/Parameterized Stored Procedure-based Crystal reports for the Pharmacy team.   Defined and implemented standards, special crosstab formatting, and drill-down functionality.
  • Feb 2003: Began conversion of Risk Management system in Access to VB.Net / XML / XSLT / SQL Server / Crystal Reports / LDAP based application.
  • Sep 2002: Created reports for the USA Patriot scheduling system on Crystal Enterprise for Outpatient Scheduling. Created complex reports and views on MS SQL Server.
  • July 2002: Created reports for the Accounting department on DB2 system via ODBC and DB2 Connect.
  • Imported data from DB2 Cobol extracts using DTS packages in MS SQL Server.
  • Setup and administered Crystal Enterprise, using LDAP security standards.
  • May 2002: Created series of reports combining Peregrine date with MS Project data on SQL Server.  Created VBA routines to save time phased data for use with reports.
  • Jan 2002: Created over 90 reports for use in Peregrine's Report Center using MS SQL Server. Reports generated for Service Center, Request Management, Time Management.  Created tables, views, triggers and UDF's.
July 2003 to October 2003  - Publix, Lakeland, Florida; DTS/TSQL Developer, Lead Developer  (Employee of Apex Systems)
  • For the Pharmacy Invoice Verification System (Imports drug and invoice data and produces discrepancy results): Lead developer duties included database design, test case creation, and primary contact for all code requests during the process. Team consisted of two developers, a DBA partially allocated to the project, and a business case specialist assigned to assist in the project.
  • Developed program specification documents based on System Resource Design for four modules
  • Designed the database schema
  • Created unit test cases and scripts
  • Coded the modules in DTS / ActiveX scripting
  • Created Unit and System Test scripts, and executed them
  • Tutored the Publix employee assigned to handle maintenance of the system when in production, the use of TSQL, SQL Server, DTS, ActiveX scripting, and other miscellaneous subjects related to the smooth roll-out of the project.

  • Member in the VB application development team working on the "Remittance Resolution System".
  • Created user interface forms, crystal reports, unattended server modules.
  • Worked with Connect Direct scripting between the Windows NT environment and the AS400 environment.

November 2000 to January 2001 -  Harcourt, Orlando, Florida; Application Consultant / Developer (Employee of Modis)
  • Took over projects left unfinished by departure of a previous employee.  Guided other Harcourt employee to complete previously initiated projects.  Assisted in-house employee in "getting up to speed" in continuing my work, checking back from time to time to ensure the project went smoothly.

  • Systematically troubleshot and corrected all of the problems derived from the migration from Visual FoxPro and Report Writer to Visual Basic 6 and Crystal Reports.  Problems solved included VB6 coding and concepts and Crystal Reports coding and formatting.

June 2000 to July 2000 - ScoreCardUSA.com, Orlando, Florida; Web Developer, Oracle 8i DBA

  • Generated MTS objects to profile user's activities and interests for advertising.
  • Tested objects using ASP, IIS 4.0, MTS, SQL Server 7.0, and Oracle 8i.
  • Installed and administered Oracle 8i on Windows NT Server 4.0 from scratch.
  • Migrated database structure and data from SQL Server to Oracle using Oracle's Migration Workbench.
  • Received severance and options as the company folded.

June 2000 to October 2000 (and other dates up through the present) - Florida Hospital, Orlando, Florida; Crystal Reports Designer (Employee of MODIS)

  • Created parameter-based reports for Tivoli system on DB2. Created tables, views and triggers in DB2.
  • Created JavaScript front-end in handcrafted HTML menus to manipulate parameters and to run reports using the Crystal Web Component in Version 8.0

July 1999 to May 2000  - Coram Prescription Services, Orlando, Florida; Application Developer

  • Converted SQLBase-based Pharmacy accounting system for use on MS SQL Server 6.5 and then 7.0
    • Converted table design and indices with Platinum Erwin, and then manually.
    • Converted all VB code to Version 6.0 and new MS SQL Server back-end.
    • Recreated old reports using Crystal Reports 7.0.
    • Automated MS Excel via ActiveX in VB.
    • Used Bulk Copy (BCP) to transfer into MS SQL Server.  Created Delphi program to manipulate data prior to importation.
  • Created ad-hoc reports and applications using MS Access 97 and 2000.
  • Created a HTML table parsing and reformation DLL on the intranet server, providing a secure method of internal users retrieving specific internet data without allowing access to the internet. Used COM, ASP, HTML, VBScript, and IIS.
  • Received severance and options as the company had a workforce reduction.

April 1999 to June 1999 - Florida Hospital, Orlando, Florida; Y2K Developer/ Consultant (Employee of MODIS)

  • Handled conversion of three systems from non-Y2K compliant systems to compliant solutions.
    • Access Database version 2.0 to Access 97 conversion including text import features and Win16 API calls.
    • Access Database 2.0 to Access 97 DDE application used to drive Application Extender databases.
    • Harvard Graphics Menu system converted to PowerPoint97. Created tiny Delphi application to launch PowerPoint shows based on time and date.

March 1999, (September 1998, October 1999, three total assignments) - Darden Restaurants, Orlando, Florida; Database Developer (Employee of MODIS)

  • Took over incomplete Red Lobster Bonus System In September 1998 using MS Access 97.
  • Redesigned same database for use with new requirements for Olive Garden in March 1999.  Made use of Visual Basic modules and specialized parameter tables for significant flexibility used in calculations.
  • Incorporated new designs in October 1999 as per requirements.
