Charles Dance attended art school in England where he met his wife Joanna. He was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company before he became a film star. Through out his career he has had a variety of roles from leading men parts to character actors to memorable villains.

Some of his well-known works include the TV miniseries “The Jewel and the Crown”, “Nicholas Nickleby” and the Masterpiece Theater 1997 remake of “Rebecca”.  His film work includes “Plenty” with Meryl Streep, “The Golden Child” with Eddie Murphy and most recently “Gosford Park” and “Swimming Pool”
