Ontario

Lot 1 ON-6. Harry Day, Belleville. Pint. Tan top. Small back of neck pock mark, likely in manufacture. Otherwise very near mint. Original stopper, wire closure. Possibly the most enjoyable specimen of this bottle I've ever seen. Sure to please. Price Bristol. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $100
Expected Range: $200-$300
Sold for $275

Lot 2 ON-8. C.H. Norton, Berlin. Pint. Tan top. Correct original stopper. Minor stopper hole flakes. Excellent strong example of this bottle. Very near mint. Munderloh, Montreal. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $250
Expected Range: $350-$500
Sold for $700

Lot 3 ON-13. Harry Allin, Bowmanville. Pint. Tan top. Correct original stopper. Very near mint. Kennedy Glasgow. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $60
Expected Range: $100-140
Sold for $150

Lot 4 ON-18. A.E. Burke, Brantford Pint. Tan top. Correct original stopper. Very near mint, excepting one stopper hole flake. Strong, clean example of this bottle. Kennedy Glasgow. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $60
Expected Range: $100-$140
Sold for $60

Lot 5 ON-26. Chas. L. Horsman, Campbellford. Pint. Tan top. Factory Fresh, excellent specimen, guaranteed to please. Very near mint. No maker's mark. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $60
Expected Range: $100-$140
Sold for $65

Lot 6 ON-P-45. Mrs. Baker F. Falls. Pint. Grey, blue wash in print. Ontario's most under-appreciated primitive pint. These bottles were found on a hillside outside Cobden, Ontario, and are accepted as coming from Forresters Falls, a tiny hamlet in Eastern Ontario. This bottle has one fingernail base chip at the back, and a spider hairline running 3/4 the way around the bottle on the shoulder. Very thin. Original tie wrap still around bottle, strong clear debossing, handsome specimen. No maker's mark. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $100
Expected Range: $150-$250
Sold for $150

Lot 7 ON-36. T&F (Thompson and Findlay), Glen Williams. Pint. Tan top. I can never see one of these without wondering why the owner went to such lengths to deface almost every one of these bottles. My guess is perhaps one of the owners was Scottish, and didn't like the bottle trumpeting "English" brewed ginger beer? Or maybe an early proud Canadian? Great story in there somewhere. Tiny base flake off inclusion at side. No maker's mark. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $60
Expected Range: $100-$140
For sale $60

Lot 8 ON-37. Thompson and Wilson, Glen Williams. Pint. Tan top. Another correct original stopper - still not appreciated in valuing these bottles like they should be. A very, very faint 2" hairline going straight down the right side, hidden in the glaze, is the only detractor from this "factory fresh" example. Excellent. Kennedy Glasgow. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $60
Expected Range: $100-$140
Sold for $65

Lot 9 ON-38. Phillips & Co., Goderich, Ont. Pint. Tan top. Exceptional specimen of a bottle that should be Category 4, definitely not Category 3. Small top of lip glaze rub, fine top of lip 1/2" hairline; neither detract from a strong, crisp specimen. Kennedy Glasgow. Cat. 4.
Opening Bid: $400
Expected Range: $800-$1200
Sold for $650

Lot 10 ON-39. Phillips & Co., Goderich, Ont. Pint. Ivory. Tiny flake out of right shoulder, less than 1/4" square, strong clean crest, very clean bottle. These are likely the two best Phillips & Co. Goderich bottles I've ever seen. No mark, likely Glass Bros, London. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $300
Expected Range: $600-$900
Sold for $450

Lot 11 ON-40. Symonds & Johnston, English Ginger Beer, Goderich, Ont. Pint. Tan body. Sadly smacked, this bottle is missing the top and is in five large pieces. There are two known, a complete one and this one, which was pictured in TPGBC. No mark, likely Glass Bros, London. Cat. 4.
Opening Bid: $100
Expected Range: $200-$300
For Sale $100

Lot 12 ON-43. W. Atkinson, Guelph. Pint. Tan top. They obviously had to work to get the cork out of this one, lots of lip flaking, coming 2/3 down on one side of the lip. Easily repaired, still a very clean, crisp bottle that displays well. More accurately a Category 2. bottle. Kennedy Glasgow. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $50
Expected Range: $100-$150
Sold for $100

Lot 13 ON-44. C.I. Cunningham (Guelph). Pint. Tan top. Repaired flake on front of lip, 1/4" wide, 1/2" down the front, shallow - I'd have it redone to make it disappear completely, but not a bad job of it. No-harm 1/4" top of lip hairline. Rare bottle that is at least a Category 3, perhaps 3+. Munderloh & Co., Montreal. Cat. 3+.
Opening Bid: $250
Expected Range: $400-$600
Sold for $400

Lot 14 ON-46. G. Kickley (Guelph). Pint. Tan top. Tiny fleabite off lip, no larger than a pinhead, otherwise very near mint. Note some lines across "KICKLEY" possibly from a slightly runny crest; definitely below the glaze and not any sort of damage. Munderloh & Co., Montreal. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $100
Expected Range: $200-$300
Sold for $170

For another Kickley bottle, see lot 89 - the final lot in this auction.

Lot 15 ON-49. Matthews, Guelph. Pint. Tan top. Inner lip chip and top of lip nibbles, all very easily repaired, otherwise stunning example of this VERY scarce Guelph bottle. Can't remember the last time I saw a Matthews for sale. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 3+.
Opening Bid: $250
Expected Range: $400-$600
Sold for $550

Lot 16 ON-50. Reed Bros., Guelph. Pint. Tan top, blue crest. Basically perfect example of an exceptionally rare bottle. There is a 1/4" circular "pop" off the body on the left side - you can see the rocky inclusion in the clay that caused the bit to pop off. It's there, and it's a very minor oversight on a bottle like this one. Price Powell and Co., Bristol. Cat. 5.
Opening Bid: $500
Expected Range: $750 - $1000
Sold for $1750

Lot 17 ON-56. Cummer & Son, Hamilton. Pint. Ivory. The crown top variant, with 3 faint to very faint hairlines - one on top of lip, 1/2", one 1/2" outside lip and at least 1" travelling inside down lip, and a third about 2" to the right of the crest. Also a popped bubble on the rear of the bottle, about 1/4" in diameter. Slight smudging on crest. A much nicer bottle than it sounds like, will be a scoop for whoever gets it. No maker's mark. Cat. 1.
Opening Bid: $15
Expected Range: $25 - $40
Sold for $20

Lot 18 ON-57. Cummer & Son, Hamilton. Pint. Ivory. The lightning stopper variant, correct marked stopper. Very minor case wear and overall a very handsome specimen of this bottle. Strong crest, clean bottle. Munderloh & Co. Ltd. Cat. 1.
Opening Bid: $25
Expected Range: $40 - $50
Sold for $65

Lot 19 ON-59. Pilgrim Bros & Co., Hamilton. Pint. Ivory. Correct marked red print stopper, overall clean, slightly light transfer. There is a touch mark on the right shoulder where this bottle came in contact with another bottle in manufacture, I don't consider it damage but it is a mark and is thus noted. Good specimen. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 1.
Opening Bid: $25
Expected Range: $40-$50
Sold for $50

Lot 20 ON-60. Sutherlands Ltd., Hamilton, Canada. Pint. Light tan top, blue crest. Outer lip chip, easily repaired. Beautiful and sought-after blue crest, split sized bottle. Buchan Portobello. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $100
Expected Range: $200 - $300
Sold for $160

Lot 21 ON-61. Sutherlands Ltd., Hamilton, Canada. Pint. Dark tan top, blue crest. Very near mint, except for a couple shovel marks on the left side of the body. A tiny bit of glaze damage, but mostly those grey/silver marks that say "a shovel was here!" Buchan Portobello. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $150
Expected Range: $250 - $350
Sold for $200

Lot 22 ON-62. John Thompson, Kinkley Brewed Ginger Beer, Hamilton, Ont. Pint. Tan top. Gorgeous metallic glaze on this one, tiny outer lip chip to rear, easily repaired. "Kinkley" was a spelling mistake - George Kickley brewed this ginger beer, sold by Thompson, as the lightning stopper bottle more accurately states (see next lot). A very, very tough bottle to find. No maker's mark. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $200
Expected Range: $350 - $450
Sold for $200

Lot 23 ON-64. John Thompson, Kickley Brewed Ginger Beer, Hamilton, Ont. Pint. Tan top. One possible glaze hairline on rear, 1/2", 1" over the lip c-shaped glaze hairline, two bubble pops and a couple very minor, light shovel rubs. Much better than description would indicate. No maker's mark. Cat. 1.
Opening Bid: $30
Expected Range: $50 - $70
Sold for $30

Lot 24 ON-65. Wentworth Mineral Water Co., Hamilton, Ont. Pint. Tan top. Basically mint. You will be very pleased with this bottle. No maker's mark. Cat. 1.
Opening Bid: $30
Expected Range: $50 - $70
Sold for $45

Lot 25 ON-66. Wentworth Mineral Water Co., Hamilton, Ont. Pint. Tan top. Glaze touch to left of lip, but basically mint. Pleasing specimen. Mark not visible, but clearly the Munderloh Montreal variant. Cat. 1.
Opening Bid: $30
Expected Range: $50 - $70
Sold for $45

Lot 26 ON-71. Wm. Pipe, Kingston. Pint. Ivory. Glaze crizzling typical of this bottle, but very, very near mint. The top appears to have been reglued, but there is no evidence of the repair under black light, and the interior of the bottle appears original all the way down, so I am guessing what I am seeing (and what you will see) is more evidence of the poor production quality at the Glass Brothers' factory. A steel blade has no effect on the area either, leading me to believe this bottle to be mint - something you seldom see, due to the poor general quality of the Glass Brothers' wares. Unmarked, but likely Glass Brothers, London, Ontario. Cat. 4.
Opening Bid: $300
Expected Range: $500 - $700
Sold for $450

Lot 27 ON-74. James Thompson, Kingston. Pint. Tan top, black crest. Very faint 3/4" hairline down outside of lip at back goes over the lip and 1" down the inside of the bottle as well. Very faint line, I hesitate even to call it a hairline, less than 1" down shoulder at back. Very nice specimen of this bottle. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $50
Expected Range: $100 - $150
Sold for $50

Lot 28 ON-75. James Thompson, Kingston. Pint. Tan top, blue crest. Two outer lip flakes. It's neat that, due to the closure type used by Thompson (original metal clasp still attached, there are so many Thompsons with lip flaking, as customers fought to remove the corks from the bottles. Otherwise beautiful near mint example. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $70
Expected Range: $100 - $150
Sold for $90

Lot 29 ON-80. London Ginger Beer Co. (London, Ont.). Quart. Ivory. A large, handsome bottle. There are three base flakes, very common on these bottles; obviously brittle clay at this Akron, Ohio pottery. Also a thin 1/2" c-shaped hairline off one of the flakes, no harm. Three light glaze scrapes on right body are not noticeable due to the glaze colour. In manufacture touch mark on left of body, due to leaning against the next bottle in the kiln - very common on these. A beautiful specimen, will please. RCP Co., Akron Ohio. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $250
Expected Range: $400 - $600
Sold for $250

Lot 30 ON-81. London Ginger Beer Co. (London, Ont.). Pint. Dark brown top. Basically perfect, with original unmarked stopper. There is a bit of glaze crizzling next to the R in beer, but not hairlines, and not damage. Also almost unnoticeable, but mentioned for accuracy. No maker's mark. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $250
Expected Range: $350 - $500
SOld for $250

Lot 31 ON-82. Jno. Murray, London, Ont. Pint. Mottled brown top. If there's a bottle in this auction worth a month of Kraft Dinner for supper, this is it. You'll go a long time without seeing one of these, and it's about the prettiest shape in Ontario ginger beers. Anyone lucky enough to put this bottle alongside the matching Bourke, Drolet and Pipe bottles will be an exceptional gifted, and lucky, collector. The lip join to the body looks weird - as though someone glued a new top onto a bottle. However, the glaze dripping matches on the lip and shoulder, and a black light shows no repair. Unless someone cut the top off the bottle with a diamond saw, then glued it right back on the same bottle, this is mint and original. If I'm wrong, send it back for a full refund, but I don't believe I am. No mark, likely Glass Bros, London. Cat. 5.
Opening Bid: $600
Expected Range: $900 - $1200
Sold for $850

Lot 32 ON-85. Ross Brothers, London, Ont. Large pint. Dark metallic brown top. The last one of these sold for $1,050, and this one's in better condition. Scarce as hen's teeth, the only reason we've had two is that we've just sold the second-largest collection in the country, and now we have a very focused, long-time southern Ontario collector's efforts. There are two very minor base flakes, possibly both in manufacture, neither of any consequence. A striking, handsome bottle, guaranteed a pleasure to own. No mark, likely Glass Bros, London. Cat. 4.
Opening Bid: $400
Expected Range: $700 - $1000
Sold for $800

Lot 33 ON-86. J. Tune & Son, London, Ont. Large pint. Light tan top. Very minor outer lip flake, great crest. You will be very pleased to add this bottle to your shelf, without hesitation. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $200
Expected Range: $300 - $400
Sold for $240

Lot 34 ON-87. J. Tune & Son, London, Ont. Quart. Ivory. Very handsome, clean, as crisp-crested as they come. This bottle has just the coolest swirl running almost 5 times around the neck, the most unique in-manufacture "flaw" I've seen in a while and very pretty thus. There is a star crack on the back of the lip, 5 pointed, none of the points more than 1/4", and very light. There is also a 3" hairline on the body at the back, again light and tight. There are two base chips, one on the left base, a minor flake. Out of the right base is a thumbnail sized flake. Both flakes would easily disappear with a good repair job (contact me if you don't have a craftsman in mind). The star crack doesn't really bear consideration and the hairline on the back body is more than offset by the spiral glazing on the neck. A very pleasing specimen. Unmarked, but likely Glass Brothers, London, Ontario. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $250
Expected Range: $400 - $600
Sold for $375

Lot 35 ON-88. J. Tune & Son, London, Ont. Pint. Light tan top. Minor imperfections, most noticeable being a fingernail sized chip out of the rear base. Possible top of lip hairline. Small glaze touch on face. Tiny hairline front base, less than 1/2" No maker's mark. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $100
Expected Range: $150 - $200
Sold for $100

Lot 36 ON-88. J. Tune & Son, London, Ont. Pint. Light tan top. 4" faint hairline travels down front face. Slight roughness over N in CANADA due to bubble in pottery, no harm. Small flake off rear base. This bottle has a darker crest, personal preference as to which is best. No maker's mark. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $75
Expected Range: $100 - $150
Sold for $85

Lot 37 ON-89. A. Robertson, Mt. Forest, Ont. Pint. Tan top with speckles. Correct marked stopper. An amazing specimen, except for a rear lip chip that is about 1/2" down, 3/8" wide and 1/8" into the lip. Could be repaired, but I believe the rubber gasket is firmly sealed, so it might mean losing the gasket to repair the lip. Beautiful crisp bottle otherwise, with neat speckles on the neck. Munderloh & Co., Montreal. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $200
Expected Range: $350 - $500
Sold for $275

Lot 38 ON-90. A. Robertson, Mt. Forest, Ont. Pint. Tan top. Correct marked stopper. A bit of light roughness at the top of the lip, very minor. A beautiful bottle, strong crisp crest, excellent pottery. Very pleasing overall, near mint. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $200
Expected Range: $350 - $450
Sold for $500

Lot 39 ON-91. A. Robertson, Mt. Forest, Ont. Small pint. Tan top. Beautiful crisp crest. 3/4" top of lip hairline. 2" back of lip strong hairline, 3 1/2" strong hairline on back of body. This is one of those "displays very near mint" bottles. Very pleasing on a shelf, exceptional rabbit and guns in the transfer. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 4.
Opening Bid: $200
Expected Range: $300 - $400
SOld for $325

Lot 40 ON-92. Crescent Bottling Works, Niagara Falls (Ont.). Small pint. Dark tan top. Faint 5" hairline runs down from the shoulder through the N in GINGER, seems to disappear in the C in CRESCENT, but clearly still exists up to the A in NIAGARA. That is the only damage on an otherwise very good example of this bottle. Buchan Portobello. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $70
Expected Range: $100 - $150
Sold for $70

Lot 41 ON-96. Jas. Crozier, Orangeville, Ont. Pint. Ivory. Full body glaze crackling, like almost every one of these - that's how they made them. 1" flake off base - thin, no real harm. In fact, this is perhaps the best condition Crozier I've seen in years. Some minor lip flaking, all clearly from the metal closure. Likely Brantford Pottery. Cat. 4.
Opening Bid: $300
Expected Range: $500 - $700
Sold for $400

Lot 42 ON-116. J. Laurie, Perth, Ont. Pint. Tan top. Small rear base chip, some crest smudges on ER and ON, otherwise a very near mint bottle. Very nice, and will be a pleasure to own. Kennedy Glasgow. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $125
Expected Range: $200 - $300
Sold for $125

Lot 43 ON-120. P.J. Grady, Peterboro (Ont.). Pint. Tan top. Noticeable C-shaped hairline on left lip, almost 1" in length. A couple light smudges to right of crest, otherwise a very clean bottle. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $50
Expected Range: $75 - $100
For Sale $50

Lot 44 ON-121. P.J. Grady, Peterboro (Ont.). Pint. Tan top. Runny crest, neat effect; bottle very near mint. No maker's mark. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $50
Expected Range: $75 - $100
For Sale $50

Lot 45 ON-122. D. Knox, Peterboro, Ont. Pint. Tan top. 2" hairline on rear, otherwise near mint. Excellent specimen. Kennedy Glasgow. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $50
Expected Range: $75 - $100
Sold for $80

Lot 46 ON-123. Shuniah Bottling Works, Port Arthur, Ont. Pint. Dark chocolate top. Chip out of rear lip from inside to outside, easily repairable and would be invisible. 2 minor chips off base, due to a burst bubble, no real harm there. A real eye-catcher in this dark colour, worth the $30-40 it would take to get a top-notch repair and you'd have a stunning bottle here. Very clean, give it a second thought. No maker's mark. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $120
Expected Range: $180 - $240
Sold for $120

Lot 47 ON-124. Crown Bottling Works, Port Hope, Ont. Pint. Tan top. Correct stopper. This bottle is less common than most Category 2's. Aside from a hairline or something on the base that's likely a fold from the manufacturing process and definitely not a detractor, this bottle is very near mint, with acute barber pole swirl twice around the neck. Strong, fresh, clean. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $100
Expected Range: $150 - $200
Sold for $150

Lot 48 ON-127. Itheel Walter, Port Hope, Ont. Pint. Tan top. This bottle is worth it just for the correct stopper! C-shaped 1/2" hairline on top of lip. Popped bubble between T and H of ITHEEL - no problem. Very, very nice example of this bottle. No maker's mark. Cat. 2.
Opening Bid: $80
Expected Range: $140 - $200
Sold for $130

Lot 49 ON-128. Itheel Walter, Port Hope, Ont. Pint. Dark reddish brown top. Light transfer, like many of these (the North Bay bottles are often similar), but very, very near mint. If this were a strong crest (and I'm not sure I've seen one?) I'd expect $750 plus for this particular bottle - it is that nice. Unmarked, likely Medalta Potteries. Cat. 2+.
Opening Bid: $150
Expected Range: $250 - $350
SOld for $150

Lot 50 ON-129. Port Perry Bottling Works, Port Perry, Ont. Pint. Tan top. The fold on the front base is just that, not a hairline, Basically mint bottle. Strong crest. Govancroft, Glasgow. Cat. 1.
Opening Bid: $20
Expected Range: $30 - $40
Sold for $35

Lot 51 ON-131. Thomas Robertson, St. Catharines. Pint. Tan. This bottle does not get the credit it deserves - completely different from the Toronto Robertson, far rarer, and the leaf transfer is quite enjoyable. Very near mint, overlooked and under-appreciated by most. A great bottle. Price Bristol. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $150
Expected Range: $250 - $350
Sold for $375

Lot 52 ON-134. T.H. Hutchinson, St. Thomas. Large pint. Tan top. Great to have with the original (chipped) Brantford Stoneware stopper. Crest is as good as they ever get, better than most, and the body is the same - better than usual. Two "chips" out of the top of the lip are both due to popped bubbles in the clay. For one of these Brantford bottles, this is a spectacular example - still looks fresh, whereas most really show their age. Unmarked, probably Brantford Stoneware. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $200
Expected Range: $300 - $400
SOld for $275

Lot 53 ON-135. T.H. Hutchinson, St. Thomas. Pint. Tan top. VERY nice crisp transfer on this example of this bottle. If you like pictorial transfers, you will want this one on your shelf, and this particular example of this bottle. Correct marked stopper. Minor fleabites on outer lip1/4" half-moon hairline on top of lip, no harm. Very shallow flake on base, perhaps 1/2" by 1", 1/32 inch thick or thinner - just a shaving, no concern. A very pleasing specimen. Munderloh & Co., Montreal. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $250
Expected Range: $350 - $450
Sold for $400

Lot 54 ON-136. Farr & Sharpe, Sarnia. Pint. Tan top. Man, these are scarce bottles. I think they're probably Category 4. A high 3, at least. Sadly, the top's been off this one and reglued, with cracks throughout the lip and two flakes missing from the damage. Personally, I would have the top repaired, likely a new top put on (fairly common shape), because the base is excellent - strong crest, very crisp, and it could be a good long time before another of these shows up. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 3+.
Opening Bid: $50
Expected Range: $100 - $150
Sold for $65

Lot 55 ON-139. Frank Arnold, Seaforth, Ont. Pint. Tan top. Original marked stopper, very near mint bottle. Excellent specimen. No maker's mark. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $100

Sold for $210

Lot 56 ON-141. John Dodds, Seaforth, Ont. Pint. Tan top. Pop off front due to imperfection in clay between O and H - JOHN. One outer lip chip, one inner lip chip. Otherwise very clean, crisp bottle. Note this is the Blob variant. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 3. Note lot 56 is the MIDDLE bottle).
Opening Bid: $120
Expected Range: $180 - $240
Sold for $120

Lot 57 ON-142. John Dodds, Seaforth, Ont. Pint. Tan top. Original marked stopper. Note this bottle has a Kennedy stamp; the next has a Munderloh stamp (not in the transfer but in the clay). 3/8" hairline on lip, very light. Small chip off right base, again, minor. Strong specimen. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 3. Note lot 57 is the bottle on the far LEFT).
Opening Bid: $120
Expected Range: $180 - $240
Sold for $120

Lot 58 ON-142. John Dodds, Seaforth, Ont. Pint. Tan top. Original marked stopper. Note this is the Munderloh stamped variety. Hairline goes around top of neck, thin but visible. Otherwise generally clean bottle. Munderloh & Co., Montreal. Cat. 3. Note lot 58 is the second bottle in from the LEFT). NOTE ALSO THIS BOTTLE HAS AN INNER LIP REPAIR - JUST NOTICED.
Opening Bid: $120
Expected Range: $180 - $240
For Sale $120

Lot 59 ON-146. Tune Bottling Co., Stratford, Ont. Pint. Tan top. Original marked stopper. Generally excellent, a couple light stopper hole flakes, near mint bottle. Munderloh crest variant. Munderloh & Co., Montreal. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $140
Expected Range: $200 - $250
Sold for $230

Lot 60 ON-146. Tune Bottling Co., Stratford, Ont. Pint. Tan top. Kennedy crest, these are not the same bottle - the variances are not huge, but are numerous. STRATFORD is not bolded on this one as on the previous, and there are numerous minor differences between the two monograms. Thumbnail sized chip at rear base. Minor roughness on lip, no harm. Generally excellent bottle. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 3.
Opening Bid: $140
Expected Range: $200 - $250

Lot 61 ON-147. Stratford Soda Water Works, H. Wilkinson. Pint. Tan top. Original marked stopper, though faint. Stunning crisp transfer. 1.5" hairline down left lip, just in front of stopper hole. Tiny chip out of front base. Beautiful example of this bottle. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 4.
Opening Bid: $250
Expected Range: $400 - $500
Sold for $275

Lot 62 ON-148. R. Taylor, Strathroy. Pint. Tan top. Basically perfect example of an exceptionally rare transfer. This is just a breath-taking bottle. Top bottle for your top shelf. Don't miss this one. H. Kennedy, Glasgow. Cat. 5.
Opening Bid: $600
Expected Range: $900 - $1200
