| The Association of Swimming Officials of the Philippines (ASOP) was |
| organized on January 5, 2003 by members of former Philippine |
| swimming teams to the Olympics, national swimmers, and swimming |
| enthusiasts. The organizers are frequently involved in officiating |
| swimming events at the divisional, regional, national and international |
| levels. To give equal opportunity to all competing swimmers, they |
| strongly felt the need to organize a group that will help improve |
| standardize swimming officiating in the country. |
