The room turns strange when we are dancing.
With you I have always been alone. Two dissonances
searching for a note impossible to hear.
You move and I move with you.
The room turns strange when we are dancing.

The music edges from a chord to its minor,
An E moves to its flat on the scale.
I say the notes are edged like bitter honey,
like words that strike against each other
never wanting to be one.
I say the music is impossible to understand.
With you I have always been alone.
