Pagdating Sa Dulo
(At The Top)
Pagdating Sa Dulo is Ishmael Bernal's first movie. It won for him the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) award for best screenplay. Using the film-within-a-film structure, Pagdating is a commentary on commercialism and materialistic values, a sex melodrama, a love story, an expose on the movie in particular. The film was chosen by the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino as one of the best films of the decade of the 1970s. It marked the advent of Bernal as a serious director who would help revitalize the film industry.
