Sundowns sneak through
Mamelodi Sundowns beat Manning Rangers 1-0 at a wet Absa Stadium in Durban on Wednesday night.
The half-time score was 0-0.
Substitute Bennet Mnguni scored the only goal of the match in the 74th
minute after Sundowns had taken control of the game from half-time.
Fellow substitute Joel Masilela steered his free kick from the right into
Rangers's box, and tall striker Alain Amougou headed the ball down for
Mnguni to shoot it home.
Rangers controlled the first half in heavy downpours, but struggled to
create enough clear-cut opportunities for strikers Fees Moloi and Gilbert
Mushangazhike.
The victory takes Sundowns seven points clear at the top as they chase t
