Rangers gunned down in Umtata

Umtata - Bush Bucks came from behind to collect maximum points when they beat Manning Rangers 2-1 in a fast and entertaining Premier League Soccer match at the Independence Stadium on Sunday.

Bucks did not give the visitors time to settle as Siza Dlamini came close to scoring in the opening minute but his shot went straight to Rangers goalkeeper Grant Johnson.

Rangers striker Fees Moloi was unlucky not to open the scoring in the sixth minute when his effort was cleared by Mongezi Malashe with the goalkeeper, Jeremiah Mathibela, well beaten.

Mathibela was called on to make a close range save from Rangers' Bruce Ramokadi , whose header in the 30th minute came from a well-taken corner kick from Isaac Kungwane.

Rangers finally got the ball into the net in the 35th minute after Referee Petros Mathabela penalised John Maduka for handling in the box.

In the second half, Bucks coach Victor Bondarenko threw everything into attack. This move paid off as Clement Mazibuko equalised in the 46th minute after a cross from Malashe.

Bucks scored the winner in the 50th minute when Patrick Mayo outpaced the Rangers defence before beating Johnson.

In the 68th minute Rangers coach Gordon Igesund replaced Regan Stuart with Dean Donaldson but the move failed to alter the complexion of the game. Two minutes later he was forced to substitute Sipho Ndzuzo, who limped off the field with an ankle injury, for Percy Molotsane.
