Gidza back to boost the Maulers

Manning Rangers have been boosted by the return of Zimbabwean striker Gilbert Mushangazike, who flew back into the country with his renewed work permit on Tuesday night.

Mushangazike is match-fit and ready to compete for a place in the starting line-up alongside Bruce Ramokadi for Friday night's match against Santos at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town, said assistant coach Alan Chetty.

The striker trained with the Zimbabwean squad for their recent African Nations' Cup qualifiers. He played in the 4-0 win over Eritrea on Sunday. Only Mozambican midfielder Antonio "Paulito" Trigo and defender Helder "Mani Mani" Muianga are still without work permits. But Chetty is confident they will be sorted out before Friday, ensuring a full squad to select from.

So far this season Ramokadi has started alongside Solo Ndimande or Fees Moloi, with striker Keryn Jordan only coming on as a substitute.

The Supporters Club hold their annual meeting at Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday at 10am. Administration manager Gavie Govender said the supporters club will increase membership throughout the province before opening branches elsewhere.
