Nduti goes AWOL

The mysterious disappearance of Manning Rangers and DRC midfielder Liswa Nduti recently "has to be one of the most unprofessional incidents that I have come across in my time involved in football," says Nduti's manager Mike Makaab.

Nduti was meant to go on a trial at RC Mouscron in Belgium just before the Rothmans Cup final. "Manning Rangers had asked my permission for the use of Liswa for the Rothmans final. I said that it would be fine and had no problem delaying the trip until after the final but after that Liswa disappeared and it was later brought to my attention that he was in Johannesburg apparently on his way to a club in Germany," says Makaab.

"The fact that a lot of organising and preparation went into this move makes it very disappointing for me. Someone has gone behind our backs and taken away all the hard work that was done and I just find that very unprofessional," continues Makaab. The former Orlando Pirates League-winning coach manages some of the top players in the country.

Players such as Siyabonga Nomvete, Fabian McCarthy and Dennis Lota are also impressing overseas clubs. "As far as Fabian is concerned we have a mandate from Celtic to explore any options possible for him. Nomvete and Lota however are still under contract with their respective clubs and should any offer arise then the deal would go through the club. There has been a lot of interest shown in all of these players," Makaab says.
