Defeats push Rangers to change formation

Two successive league defeats have convinced Manning Rangers' coach Gordon Igesund that a change in playing formation is necessary to get the best out of the players at his disposal.
Following Friday night's 2-1 away defeat to Santos, Igesund said that he will change the playing formation from the current 3-5-2 to a 4-4-2 pattern so that players will be playing to their full potential.

In the current set-up left wing-back Japhet Zwane and right wing-back Fees Moloi have been exposed defensively and have therefore not been able to fulfil their attacking duties, said Igesund.

The Mighty Maulers' next assignment will be the first leg of the Rothmans Cup tie against Mother City at the Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday. For the first time this season Igesund will have his entire squad to select from as his foreigners have received their work permits. They will be registered with the PSL during this week, said Igesund. Defender Bradley Muir has also fully recovered and will be available.
