DURBAN - Manning Rangers began their preperations for the new season last week with a depleted team because a number of new signing to replace an exodus of transfer listed players had not been confirmed.

Fourteen Maulers players were transferred last month. Coach Gordon Igesund has been locked in negotiations for the past three weeks with Orlando Pirates and a number of other clubs for the services of some of their stars.

"The last three weeks have been busy for me but things have been a bit a slow " said Igesund.

Igesund said it could be risky at this stage to give the names of players who could be joining the Maulers because no agreement had been reached. However Bruce Ramogkadi and Naughty Mokoena are set to head for the Chatsworth Stadium. Igesund had expresse interest in Bafana Bafana midfielder John Moeti and Dumisa Ngobe at the end of last season. Meanwhile attacking midfielder Solo Ndimande is reported to have renewed his contract with the Maulers. This dispels rumours that he was to have moved to newly promoted African Wanderers at the end of last season.

Wanderers were believed to be in talks for services of Ndimande and defender Moeti Khasu who had been transfer listed by the Chatsworth club.
