Rangers off to a winning start
Manning Rangers beat Hellenic 1-0 in a Castle Premier Soccer League match at King's Park Soccer Stadium in Durban on
Friday night.
The half-time score was 0-0.
Debutant midfielder Reagan Stuart scored the only goal of the game in the 87th minute to give Rangers the three points
after the home side had missed several chances.
Rangers were awarded a penalty in the opening minute, but new striker Bruce Ramokgadi ballooned the
ball over the bar.
The Mighty Maulers went into the game without five key players, but nevertheless enjoyed more of the possession
and could have won by a bigger margin had they brought their striking boots to the ground.
Hellenic had two good chances saved by Rangers goalkeeper Grant Johnson in the first half and in the second half winger
Jonathan Solomons had only Johnson to beat but shot wide. - Sapa
