Canada has been blessed by able and dynamic Prime Ministers who have developed a vision for our nation and its place in the world. Their public careers have all had a profound impact on our history and evolution as a country. In recognition of this contribution, all of our deceased prime ministers have been designated as persons of national historic significance. In addition, to acknowledge their important role, the Governmment of Canada recently announced a program designed to protect and honour the gravesites of our Canadian prime ministers.
