We got Married!
Hello Out There!
Well, it has been quite awhile since I have written, in part due to the rapid changes I have been experiencing! I've been very busy on top of everything, so please forgive me! Well, I cleared up like MAD the first 3 weeks. I had almost perfect skin and then WOW! Blackhead city! All around my chin, cheeks, forehead, nose, sides of my nose...gosh. It was yucky! My face looked constantly dirty for about a week, and then BAM! Gone! They all started falling out, scratching out, exfoliating out etc. I have had those blackheads since before I had acne, so you can imagine how absolutly THRILLED I am to be finally rid of them.
My doc increased my dosage for the 2nd month from 40mg per day to 80 mg on even days and 40mg on odd days. Seemed to bring on a breakout, then help things speed along nicely.
Anyways, now on to the "good stuff". In the end of the 3rd week I started developing small cysts. I got about 10 within the period of the third weeks end to the 5th week. The 6th and 7th weeks have been all about healing. They are no fun let me tell you. They seem to just stay there forever, and you can't make them smaller by picking. It only makes them WAY WORSE---DON'T DO IT! I injected one of them to try and reduce the swelling and pressure. Well it worked fabulously for one day, from a mountian to a small deflated bump, barely there. Well, 4 days later it infected the pore next to the one I injected thus creating a super cyst that made the hugest whitehead I've ever seen. Ewww. Just in time for the Super Bowl Parties to come-yay. That'll teach me, Dr. Barriere! Not. I've got to get to Med. school first! Someday I am going to be a dermatologist, but UNTIL then I'd better hold off on the self-acne surgery. Hehehee.
Lets see, I got horribly sick one day in the beginning on December 22nd, 2003. I actually threw up small amounts of blood all night and into the next morning. I don't know if it was because of the Accutane, but either way I lived obviously and all my tests came out fine for my liver kidney and whatnot, so who knows. I've had a little congestion in my sinuses, light bloody nasal drainage. Nothing like a bloody nose though, just blood in the tissue when I blow. Like you wanted to picture that! Sorry. =) I have a spot rash, of dry scaly skin. Nothing to worry about though, it isn't very visible. I have headaches every now and then, but I am prone to migraines without Accutane so once again I don't know what to contribute them to. My skin is no longer oily at all, very nice. I love it. My vision gets blurry sometimes, that is the largest side effect I've had. Oh, and also I have had a few bouts of exhaustion (lots of sleep unexpectedly) and I have lost 13.5 pounds because of my Accutane dietary changes, and exercise increases. Let me tell you, diet and exercise really are all you need to lose alot of weight. I think the biggest reason for my success is that I don't allow myself to eat after 6pm. I look great, and am continuing to lose as we speak!
Lastly, just to make sure that I cover them all, I've had some minor joint pain and muscle pain when I don't use my yoga ball! I guess stretching really does work miracles for the Accutane patient. Okay, thats all. I will try and update as soon as something changes!
