AEROSPACE SCIENCE CURRICULUM: Includes four different one-year coiurses in Aeronautics, Aerospace History, Advanced Aeronautics (space program) and Survival. The Aeronautics (science of flight) course is an examination of the enviornment in which aircraft operate, principals of flight, development of air power, and military aerospace policies. The Aerospace History course is a historical development of flight and the role of military in history. the Advanced Aeronautics course is the study of the space enviornment, space programs, space technology and deep space exploration. LEADERSHIP EDUCATION CURRICULUM: Includes four different one-year courses taught in conjuction with the appropriate year od Aerspace Science curriculum. The first yeat introdueces cadets to AFJROTC, military customs and curtesies, and health. The second year, cadets examine communication skills, personal/group motivation and personal/group behavior. the third year is a practical srudy of "life after high school". This course includes the study/practical application of job resumes, job applications, college applications, and all types of scholarships (both college and technical). The fourth year is a study of management and leadership theories including practical applicaiton to cadet group through cadet leadership positions. DRILL AND CEREMONY: Includes the application of proper wear of the military uniform, proper military customs/courtesies and marching, as well as personal grooming and hygiene. This curriculum is also taught in conjunction with the appropriate Aerospace Science curriculum. The Drill and Ceremonies curriculum is a graded, integral part of the AFJROTC prgram and requires the wearing of the complete uniform throughout the day once a week as well as a reasonable haircut and shave within the AFJROTC guidelines. Wearing the uniform throughout the day is defined as from the time the cadet arrives at school in the morning and throughout the day. |
