| We have had a fun 1st year back in the Beagling & Trial game. We have enjoyed ourselves immensely. Gator is getting stronger in every category each time out. Hannah is as much fun to hunt behind as any dog that I have ever owned to this date. Reba is doing fantastic as well. Most importantly, it has allowed for more quality time to be spent with my favorite rabbit hunting partner, Ryan. Not to mention, he has become a pretty fair shot! The trialing will continue in 2008 and we are still anticipating good things in that area. More importantly to us is the fact that we can take each of our hounds out and successfully and effeciently rabbit hunt over them. They all hunt, and pursue the rabbit with the intent to catch it, all while sustaining line control and closeness in a check area. We have added several young prospects for the 2008 derby season. 2 young short derby males out of FC Birges McGruff, one we call Pipe Creeks Bunny Bustin' Benelli, and his littermate Pipe Creeks Duramax Powered Diesel. Look for Benny & Max to make a little noise at the derby trials this spring. We also have a female out of FC Wienhorst's Dark Line Sailor. Her name is Pipe Creeks Smooth Sailing Cindy. Along with FC Russell Creeks Grim Reaper sired, Pipe Creek's Grim Reba, we are ready for this years female class of derbies. |
