The following was the programme, which, by the way, proved too long and somewhat too severe for a Glasgow Audience.

Andantino                                                                  Th. Salome
Organ Sonato (sic!)                                                  W.T. Best
Adagio  E major                                                        Gustav Merkel
Air with Variations and Finale                                 H. Smart
Fantasia in F minor                                                  Mozart
Andantino                                                                   C.V. Alkan
Fantasia Pastorale                                                   W.T.Best
(End of quote from The Glasgow Herald)
W.T. Best played two more recitals. The next one, on Wednesday 21 November, had the following programme:-
                                  Part I
Organ Concerto                                  Handel
Andante con Variazioni                      Beethoven
Grand March                                        Smart

                                   Part II
Prelude and Fugue                             Bach
Andante                                                 Smart
Prologue and Trumpet Fugue          Best
Finale                                                    Salome
Best's recital on 10 December 1877 included the following:-
Organ Sonata No.1 in F minor              Mendelssohn
Welsh March                                             Best
Air with Variations from Symphony       Haydn
in D major
Finale-Allegro Vivace                               G. Morandi
