| REMARKS :- The Manual Reeds, the Mixtures, and small scale stops are mostly made of tin, the remaining metal work of spotted metal. The lowest 13 pipes of Great Double Open and Pedal Open Diapason are made of zinc. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| There are no speaking pipes in front. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The pitch is French Diapason Normal C 517'3 at 57 degrees Fahrenheit. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Action Tubular Pneumatic throughout. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The wind is generated by three (3) of Melvin & Sons' High Pressure Hydraulic Engines. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Blowing Apparatus has been entirely renewed, and is now capable of a greatly increased wind supply at considerably less cost for water than formerly. The Engines are capable of supplying a maximum volume of wind (under various wind pressures), equal to something like 5,000 cubic feet per minute, having an aggregate pressure of over four tons, so that when full organ is being played, this enormous weight and volume of wind passes through the organ pipes each minute. The Engines are controlled automatically by means of a special apparatus, so that when the Bellows Reservoirs are full, the Engines Stop or Slow down as required. The Organist can also start and stop the Blowing Engines from the Organ Console by a patent Pneumatic Drawstop, similar in size to an ordinary Organ Stop, this bringing the whole mechanism under his immediate control. (According to a note scribbled on the page, the blowing apparatus was electrified in 1928. J.P). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
