     I began smoking pipes off and on in the late eighties and became serious about it in early nineties.   In the begining, I found smoking pipes a bit of a challenge and at times frustrating. I lived in an area where the nearest shop was 3 hours away, besides the local five and dime that is. After moving to a major metropolitan area, I spent a lot of time at local pipe shops learning the nuances of good pipes and great tobaccos. I spent a good amount of time looking for old books and magazines, as well as searching for information on the internet. I also joined a local club. In the past ten years, I have learned more then I would have ever dreamed imaginable about something that looked so simple to me in the begining.
      Thanks to many, I have learned to truly enjoy this hobby! I spend time with family and friends in the pursuit of new and estate pipes, humidors and stands.   At one point I even made a business of it. However, trying to make a profit at something meant for enjoyment and relaxation can really put a damper on things.
      So, what will you find here?   Some of my treasures collected along the way as well as some things that don't really excite me, but might be just what you're looking for.
