Thank you precious Lord, for the joy of this moment.
Thank you for showing me how much love you have for me.
Thank you for bringing peace and joy into my life in this prison.
As I rebuild my life each day, I see how temporary all the things of earth can be.
I see the great works of human life, yet I see the days of my life are numbered.
I see the great work of writers, poets, artists, and dreamers who made dreams come true, yet I see their lives are often filled with pain, suffering, bitterness, rancor, and unrighteousness.
What I ask today is that you give me a way to build for you.
If you will it, help me build a spiritual life that contains spiritual materials that will last into eternity.
I understand that all earthly things must end.
I understand that all the temples of the world will crumble.
In my life and soul, help me accept the earthly end of my earthly works, and accept the destruction of my pride.
As the great temples built in days of old have crumbled, let the temples of my human desires also crumble.
I seek your face for these things.
In my heart, I know you will help me rebuild all the parts of my life.
I humbly seek these spiritual things in your name and according to your will.
I seek your face for I know in my heart you stand ready to help me build a new temple within me…a temple that will not perish, will not decay, will not fall down, a temple that will last forever.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, in the prison, I am surrounded by all types of evil and adversity. In your name and by your power, I proclaim to you as my Lord and Savior, that today, tomorrow, and for all the days of my life, I shall make every effort to rise above every trouble.
In your love, I shall see your light in every darkness.
In your love, I shall touch your hope in every adversity.
In your love, I shall find your victory in every defeat.
In your love, I shall find the gain in every loss.
In your love, I shall receive even bad news with the hope that in your hands all things can be used for your glory and grace.
In your love, I shall commit every hour of my life to going upward, upward, and upward.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen
====================================================================

May all the times of my life when I am blinded by circumstances and events be turning points for me to turn to you.
Let every adversity be a time of renewing my faith in you.
Let every moment of depression be a time of reaching up to you so I can be pulled out of my darkness.
Lord, I do not understand all things.
There are mysteries in your ways that puzzle me.
Even when I am puzzled about your ways, push me ahead to do your work.
When I am puzzled, do not let me doubt your wisdom or your power.
Let my heart overflow with thanksgiving no matter how difficult the moment might be for me.
When I am confronted with attacks by the darkness, bring your light so others may see how wonderful your love and light are within me.
When others are burdened down by difficulties, adversities, and circumstances they cannot control, reach down and touch them so they do control their heart for you.
Let every hardship be a challenge to serve you more.
Let every setback be an opportunity to glorify your strength and power in my life and in the life of all those who seek your love.
In the name of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit who lives within me and touches me, Amen.

A Prayer Of Affirmation

There is but one Lord, and it is you, my Savior. There is but one God, and it is you, Christ Jesus. There is but one Jesus, and it is you, the One who died on the Cross for me. I know in my innermost being you hear these words. In you, Christ Jesus, I am not divided in spirit. In you, Christ Jesus, I am one with your love and power. I am humbled before you. I have no way to go except as you lead me. No matter what might attract me in my worldly flesh, I am always drawn to serve you. My spirit is made free by your scars. My life is made new by your death for me on the Cross. As time runs out of my life, as I see an end is near for me and for the world, I can see you waiting for me. I can see you at the door of my new home. I can see you at the door of my new mansion in the sky. How wonderful you are. How sure you make me about the next decades, centuries, and millenniums without end. Praise comes from my spirit like the Living Water that flows from you to me. How great are thy mercies! How wonderful is thy love! All these things I pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen

Dear Heavenly Father,
Within these prison walls
I want to grow in wisdom, love, and grace.
I have faltered and I have become lazy.
Within these prison walls
I have stopped growing and now all I do is vegetate in one place in stagnation.
As surely as I am alive I know it is your will for me to grow, mature, and develop each day until we see each other face to face.
In your will, let me never grow content and rest in what others call retirement.
If it is your will, let me grow very old so I may continue to do your work and will each day until the day we see each other face to face.
Always let me seek out new ideas, new approaches, new wisdom, new truth, and new ways of doing things.
Keep my chin up and my attitude positive so I will get better and better each day at being your child.
May you continue to smile on me as I seek to grow in your ways.
May I never be content in merely living from one day to the next.
May you empower me to get better and better each day.
Inspire me today and every day to read, pursue, inquire, ask, seek, knock, question, investigate, learn new things, add new skills, communicate more, pray more, meditate more, and never stop growing in your love and grace.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen

Dear Heavenly Father,
Even though I am in prison
I make many choices each day.
In your love, may I always tried to make the choice to dedicate my life to a mission rather than hoping a mission will draft me into something I like to do.
Too often I have procrastinated and caught myself thinking perhaps you will deliver to me some kind of consuming mission.
No matter what I do in my life, may I always be willing to fully dedicate my life to the pursuit of what you want me to do and to be.
When you have a goal for me, let me always be successful for you because of my dedication to your mission for me.
Every day I am alive, let a fire burn in my heart to never relent in achieving your mission for me.
If it is your will, because of my prayers and dedication to you, may you make all things possible in the lives of those I pray for each day.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen

Dear Heavenly Father,

Every day I see evil.
I see evil on television, in movies, in print, and even in people around me.
I also know evil lurks in the dark shadows of my world.
Often I cannot see the evil hiding in the darkness.
Precious Lord, in your love and grace, help me to never ignore evil.
Instead, help me to confront evil.
Help me to expose the evil in my world and life.
Help me to expose the evil darkness that wants to steal my heart, soul, mind, and life.
Help me shine your light of truth and love whenever I see evil ravaging my world.
Help me be a person of love who does good and godly deeds at all times and in all ways.
When evil seeks to erase the good in my life, help me replace the evil with your compassion and your love.
When evil wants me to be evil in return, help me do good and godly deeds in the face of what evil tries to do.
When others hurt me, help me do good and godly deeds for them.
When others despise me, help me do good and godly deeds for them.
When others hate me, help me do good and godly deeds for them.
When others do evil things against me, help me do good and godly deeds for them.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen

Dear Heavenly Father,
Compared to you, I am faulty and misguided in my reasoning.
Compared to you, I am ignorant and without wisdom.
Compared to you, I am nothing, yet you love me and you seek to bring
me home as your child.
When you do not give me what I ask for, help me to see the wisdom in
your answer.
When you do not give me what I ask for, help me to have faith any
answer you give me is for my benefit and your glory.
When the pain of my life begins to blind me to your presence, help me
understand you are with me and help me to understand your wisdom will
guide me.
When you do not heal me when I think I need to be healed, show me my
suffering and your response can all be made to your glory and grace.
When I do not have enough wisdom to understand you, help me to accept
your will for my life.
When I am frustrated because you do not help me overcome the many
barriers in my life, help me to accept your will for my life.
When you tell me "No", let your wisdom be poured into me so I may
glorify you.
When you tell me "No", let your wisdom be poured into me so I may be
more of your child.
When you tell me "No", help me understand you are preserving me in
ways I do not have the wisdom to understand.
When you tell me "No", help me to see my life as you see it, and help
me to accept your love.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord
Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon
whom I can rely.
Amen
=============================================================
I am often afraid.
From my rising in the morning in the cell block to lights out at night.
Although I am often afraid, I know one of the desires of your heart is for me to have courage to face my fears.
I know one of the desires of your heart is for me to take charge and take control of my fear.
In your name and in your love, I shall seek your freedom from the fear I face each day.
Walking to meals with cons who take drugs just to keep from killing someone before breakfast,
Going to the shop to do my prison job, and just getting through the day.
In your name and in your love, I shall always seek the security and serenity of your protection.
When I am afraid of what may happen in the future, I shall think about how you are with me now.
When I am afraid of what may happen in the future, I shall think about my future with you in Heaven above.
I give you praise for your eternal protection, for your unlimited power to protect me, and for your truth that exposes every lie that fills my heart with dread.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen

In our walk together, I have stumbled and fallen.
And now, I am going to prison.
I accept full responsibility for what I have done.
I knew better than to do what I did.
The distress I am in by harming myself and others is eating me alive.
Please help me Lord.
Help me be fully yours.
Help me pick myself up and keep moving forward.
I trust you to teach me about many things in this time of grief and stress.
I am so sorry about falling down.
I have disappointed others, disappointed myself, and I know I have disappointed you.
In your love for me, make sure I do not give up.
I love you.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen
========================================================================

When my time in prison gets the best of me, remind me to look forward and upward to see your glory in the distance.
Never let me be consumed by the darkness in the here and now when the here and now is always filled with your light of love.
When I think you do not hear my prayers, remind me you are always listening and acting on my behalf.
When I have doubts, direct me to your word and inspire my mind to soak up your wisdom.
When I am insecure, infuse me with your love and strength.
When I encounter your mystery, inspire me to ponder and live in awe at your majesty.
May I always be able to tame the unrest in my soul by praying and meditating about your wondrous love.
May I always be empowered with your love to turn my selfishness and pride into selfless service and devotion to you.
In my darkest hours when I am weeping, please help me calm my heart and spirit so I can reach out to comfort the weeping of others.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen

I am in pain.
The pain I have caused is now my pain.
I am wounded and bleeding in my heart.
I have suffered greatly because of disappointments of many kinds, those I caused and those against me.
Yet I put my whole trust in you.
I know, with absolute certainty, your love is a love that heals.
I know, with absolute certainty, your love will restore me and make me like new again.
In you, O Lord, I find miracles waiting to be poured out upon my life.
In you, O Lord, I can see across the universe and can feel the healing power of your love filtering down over me, filtering down through me, and filtering down into my heart.
My wounds, cuts, scars, and injuries have no choice but to heal as you touch me.
My pain has no choice but to turn tail and run when you come near.
For my body may be besieged with all manner of illness…
For my body may get old and will surely fail…
But I can see you even through the bars of the window, even through the razor wire, even through the walls,
I can see you working for me, standing by me, and reaching out your nail-scarred hand to touch me in all of my infirmities.
In you, you who are the Great Physician, I invest my whole heart and life.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen
Thank you for the blessings of my life.
Thank you for the times when I am fully in communion with your heart.
I love you Lord Jesus.
When I think I am alone, I know I am not really alone for you are with me.
Together, we shall walk the path of faith.
Together, we shall go through the daily grind of the prison.
Together, there shall be no end to the hope and promise of my life until that hour when all hope and promise becomes reality in you and through you.
In all I say, think, and do, bring upon me your humility to only say, think, and do what is in your will for me.
When I am full of doubt and worry about my future, I seek your love and your assurance.
When I am headed in directions not of your will for me, please bring me the gentle reminders of your will in ways I clearly understand.
When the hour of my trials reaches its peak, render me ready for your service and strengthen me with your power of love.
When the hour of my trials reaches its peak, enable me to shine the light of your love to the world around me.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen

I rest in your love for me that I can not find in my life or in prison.
I bring before you in humility all of my mistakes and my sins.
Through you I find forgiveness and a clean heart and mind. Even though I must pay for my mistakes,
I am certain you know me and you love me in a most personal way.
In ways I often do not understand, you live within me and seek to be ever-present within my thoughts and within my spirit.
I surrender my life to you this day.
I cannot tell you all about how I feel and think for I am feeble in my thoughts and words, but I love you and I need you.
Help me be a humble person in your sight, contrite in all I do and say.
Help me be your surrendered child in your love.
Help me be your humble witness to the world.
Take my life, my needs, my wants, my pain, my suffering, my burdens, and use them all to your glory.
I need you Lord Jesus.
My prayer list overflows with cries for help.
My list of needs is fully known only to you.
I know you hear my pleas and my petitions.
I bring all the people on my list to you so you will touch them, fill them, and heal them.
As I endure many trials, tribulations, and temptations, please help me be your child.
Give me strength, courage, and beams of your love.
Lead me in doing what is right and righteous in your eyes.
To you I give all praise, honor, and glory.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen
