No one knows exactly how Hibehr arrived on Malnev; they only know that he's here. One day, some villagers had gone to the beach to fish, and he approached them. He offered to help them with their fishing, and has done so ever since. He usually keeps to himself other than that, so no one knows much about him. So far, most people assume that he's very shy.
In reality, while he is a bit shy, he is also fairly lonely. He is looking for other water dragons to keep him company. While he would enjoy any company, he would like to find a female who wants to settle down...
He had been on Malnev for quite a while when he heard some of the other dragons talking when they came swimming in one of his favorite coves. They were talking about a frenzy type clutch of eggs that was looking for potential bonds for the hatchlings. The thing was, any candidates had to be aquatic, or at least be able and inclined to spend long periods of time in the water.
He swam over to the other dragons. Since he wasn't very large, compared to many dragons, he hoped they wouldn't have a problem with his request.
"Excuse me," he spoke up during a lull in their conversation. When they turned to look at him, he continued. "I couldn't help but overhear; where might this Swim be held? It sounds like something I've been looking for."
The two dragons looked at each other. After a moment the smaller one spoke.
"It's not on this planet; you'd need to find a way to get there. Can you fly? Or do you know anyone who can?"
"No, unfortunately. I was wondering if I could possibly impose on one of you to take me? That is, if you have the time. Or if you could point me in the direction of someone who could help me?" This had been what he was afraid of; he hadn't really met many of the dragons who lived here, as he couldn't leave the water for more than a few hours at a time.
Now the larger of the two spoke up. "Ioucath, be nice." She looked at Hibehr. "I think I've heard of you. Not too many dragons have seen you yet. But if you want to go, I could give you a lift. I would try myself, some of the descriptions I've heard are intriguing, but I can't spend that much time in the water. The place is called the Healing Den. Do you want me to take you? I can get us there fairly quickly, if you have problems staying out of the water."
"That would be much appreciated. My name is Hibehr Stormdancer. Might I have your name?"
"I am Irertean. Well, we should go if we want to get you there as soon as possible. Slide over my back and hold on."
He followed her instructions, and they were soon in the air. Hibehr was exhilarated by the sensation of flying, but soon began to wish for the water. He was starting to dry out, a bit fast than usual due to the speed they were moving. The dragoness teleported to their destination as soon as she had cleared a certain altitude. She took him to a cove where there were several dragons and many humanoids. She landed in the water, and Hibehr slid off her back.
"Thank you very much for the ride. If there is anything I can do for you in the future, please let me know." With that, he headed towards what looked like a sign up area, and Irertean walked out of the water, shook herself, and took to the air once more.
The platypus dragon got someone to sign him up as a potential candidate, then asked around for things to do while he waited. He soon found many things to occupy himself, and was busy enough to barely notice the wait, except for the wishing to have a companion.
